Same with Viewtiful Joe. I can't believe how much I love VJ though, its the 3D/2D platformer/beat'm'up that ive been looking for, it combines my favorite parts of Little Big Planet and Streets of Rage. I love it, but yea I know they ported to PS2 later on.
Recently, at least, I've thought that the DS2's left analog is in the wrong place, now that most games are 3D and use it exclusively. That, and the GC has much nicer grips and shoulder buttons.

The only games I think of that go great with the Gamecube controller that weren't designed for the Gamecube are shoots and racers. Ikaruga and Mario Kart 64 I have no problem playing on a Gamecube controller, but almost any other type of game seems to suffer from having one really large center button.

Also, looks like some Dual Shock 2 fans are in high places: http://kotaku.com/5265606/european-bure ... -keyboards

I think if they rereleased Ghostbusters 2 today, the Ghostbusters would control The Statue of Liberty with a Dual Shock 2.

No, that would have only happened if they released it more than 3 years ago, since then it would be the 360 controller. Actually they would prob use one of the joystick/fighting game pad things

Ah the Gamecube, it has such a great list of games. Too bad it was the ugly duckling of last gen hardware. The D-pad on the GC controller was a shitty design desicion. How small do they think americans fingers are anyways?

But what games used the D-pad on the GC? I can't think of any that I played that used it.

Mega Man Collection, X Collection, Soul Caliber 2 and Alien Homid are some off the top of my head that play better using a D-pad.
