Mega Turrican (Genesis)

Post by HeavyMetalMe »

Why haven't I heard of this till now? I bought the cart awhile back but never gave it a try. I finally did the other day, and it's spectacular. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good platformer. It's a bit of a Metroid ripoff, but it's a hell of a lot of fun. Anyone else dig it?

I remember it scoring very well back in the day. For some reason though I never liked the way the main character or art direction in general looked and so I never picked it up. He looked plain and generic I thought. I bet its a good game though.

Ah, Mega Turrican, what a kick ass game. It's my favorite platformer. I'd like to try out the Commodore 64 and Amiga Turrican games.

Shame on you :P, you should've put the game in your Genesis as soon as you could.
It's a bit of a Metroid ripoff...
Just because you morph into a ball, that's pretty harsh.

Yeah, that really is my only reason for calling it that... Maybe the brain monster at the end of the first level could add to it as well.

You should try Super Turrican and its sequel, it's the same series and similar.

In my humble opinion, this game had one of the best soundtracks in the series, and on the Genesis/Megadrive. And the gameplay is still solid to this day.

Turrican 3 on the Amiga is just as bad ass. Some, including myself, feel that it's superior than MT.
