Microsoft Zune HD ipod touch competitor

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Microsoft Zune HD ipod touch competitor

I can't help but think they could have outdone the ipod touch/iphone by adding a d pad and a couple buttons. That's the major problem the touch has with overcoming the psp and ds. Had microsoft done that, it could have become the world of retrogame apps.

They should have taken a lesson from all the portable game consoles and included dual analogs. Something the PSP2 will regret not having.

Anything would be better than the copy and paste job they seem to have done. You can't beat someone at their own game by doing the exact same thing. It has to do something seriously different than the iphone or be a lot cheaper. The connectivity with Xbox is definitely helpful though. Apple doesn't really have any connection to the gaming industry other than the pc games that get ported to mac.

The portable market is becoming more crowded than the console market though. Who would've guessed that would happen?

I want one! At least if its cheaper than an iPod Touch. I've always prefered the Zune interface anyway. Considering its going to be connected to Xbox Live etc. I think it will be better than the iPod as far as gaming goes. Can't wait to see how it turns out. :)

If I didnt just buy an EEE I would be more interested. Ive got atleast a year on my current ipod but after that I might jump ship. I cannot see the article because of the filter, but I saw an image on google, any idea on video out?

If they actually focus on making it a decent music player it will be better than the ipod touch, to me at least. The ipod has some cool apps and safari works pretty well, but it makes for a piss poor mp3 player.

I love my Zune, of course mine was given to me for free. Would I buy one? If the price was better then a Ipod, sure.

It does what it needs to do, it gets my podcasts and plays my music and does a decent job of doing videos too.

I'm a happy idiot. :)
