N64 help!

Post by Coppers15 »

Hi, i'm having a bit of a problem setting up a N64 at my work palce. We are trying to set it up in the bar that i work at so that people can come and play some old school games while they have a drink at the bar. The problem is that all our entertainmet stuff e.g pc,dvd player, freeview box is all at the back of the building about 50 foot from the bar itself. So i thought the best and simplist way to get it all working would be to run a aerial extension cable from the back of the N64 to our pc but our pc doesn't have an aerial in socket, but does have a composite(red, white,Yellow Ports) SO i was wondering is there anything i can buy to convert normal aerial at one end into a svhs or 3 prond red, white and yellow cable.

Many thanks

so in aerial, you mean the R/F type connector thingy the old school n64 has? ithought n64's already had svideo. then again i bought my n64 used off a pawn shop and came with svideo cable hookups.

yep thats right, the old school thingy, i'm not very good with all the different types of cables and stuff lol. In short, instead of plugging the n46 cable into the back of a tv i want to plug it in to a scart, svhs or 3 pronded thing(yellow, red, white)

thanks

Well all you need is either an s-video or composite (yellow, red, white) and then a 50ft extension cable...
Basically you'll need something like this for S-video (tho if you can find something longer, that means you'll have to buy less of 'em). Then you'll need the same thing, just for the composite stuff. tbh, this will cost you quite a bit of money if you go one of the higher quality outputs...I know they make extension cables for F-cable (that R/F one), I just don't know if they make F-cable to RCA cables...

You could use a cheap VCR at a 'boot' sale (I think that's what you guys call them over there). Just make sure it has the appropriate outputs that you need.
