Hdl_srvr.elf said to edit the IP address of the PS2 by going into mc0:SYS-CONF/IPCONFIG.DAT, and I have no idea where that is. Also, HDL_dumb gave me an error when I entered the PS2's IP address, 192.168.0.10, saying "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond."
EDIT: Okay, I tried copying and pasting the IPCONFIG.DAT file from my ExecFTP folder to the mc0:SYS-CONF/ folder, but I get the same error message from hdl_dumb.
Also, I haven't used hdl_dump, because even after reading the tutorial, I have no idea how to set the ip address in it.

Have you ever tried using google? I'm not against giving someone a helping hand, but at this point, you're asking for a course. Courses aren't free. Paypal me $50 and I'll get you completely educated in this area.

I don't want to get into a fight with Mozgus or anything, so I'll restrain myself from verbal retaliation. All I'm looking for is a solution to my problem. That's all I've been trying to do in this thread.
Re: PS2 Problem: WinHiip not Recognizing HDD
One problem at a time, perhaps. You seem to be stumped on something new every 5 seconds. When you are confused about IDE jumper pins, it's time to start from scratch and take an A+ Certification course, or just give up. I'm sure someone with far more patience than me will come along, (or just more people who collectively disperse small amounts of it), but am I really such an asshole for telling you the exact same way I learned everything?lisalover1 wrote:I don't want to get into a fight with Mozgus or anything, so I'll restrain myself from verbal retaliation. Again, it's called Google.

Re: PS2 Problem: WinHiip not Recognizing HDD
Yes, but it's still all the same problem; I'm just trying to find a method that actually works. Most of these new solutions were suggested by other people, not me, so it's not like I'm the one bringing all the new topics up in this thread. All I want to do is get a PS2 game onto my PS2 hard drive. Also, you want me to take a course on something as insignificant as this little project, just because you had to do so? Don't force your own trials on other people just for justification that they had to be done. At this point, it's down to a single error, and all I need is one solution to work, then I'm done asking.
Re: PS2 Problem: WinHiip not Recognizing HDD
How can I install an IDE hard disk to an SATA slot by a ide/sata conventer? my motherboard is ASUS P5PL2, and has just one slot for IDE decives, while i have three IDE devices!(a hard disk and two optical devices). so i bought that conventor to connect my IDE hard through the SATA slot, but it is not recognized by the motherboard bios at all!

Oh, please. Go on.
Re: PS2 Problem: WinHiip not Recognizing HDD
mc0:SYS-CONF/IPCONFIG.DAT is referring to the file IPCONFIG.DAT in the SYS-CONF folder on Memory Card 0 (AKA Memory slot 1). I literally copied the file from my SYS-CONF folder to my memory stick plugged into the usb port, edited it on a computer and then copied it back. It worked straight away. All ipconfig does is change the IP that that HDL_SRVR.ELF is going to listen for incoming connections. So you don't even need to edit the file really. Usually the defaults work fine unless your PC and PS2 are on different subnets, IE PC is on 192.168.1.100 and PS2 192.168.0.100 these are on different subnets.lisalover1 wrote:Hdl_srvr.elf said to edit the IP address of the PS2 by going into mc0:SYS-CONF/IPCONFIG.DAT, and I have no idea where that is.
