Agreed. I could only be more impressed if there's a way you could modify the cartridges to use EPROMs instead of batteries.

I keep asking myself every time I see a cart that needs a battery, if there's some way I could replace it with EPROM or Flash instead.

Meh. Most if not all of the batteries in my NES games still work, and those are how old? If I'm going through the trouble of making a repro cart, trust me, the battery will be replaced. By the time the new one dies the system might not even work any more (half joking) so I wouldn't even worry about it.
