Listen. Don't fuck around with cheap media. Is $20 really too expensive for a 50 pack? Do you want your discs to work? Do you want them to keep working next year? Yes? Buy the good shit then. Get online, read reviews, make note of manufacturer codes to verify what you buy. Anyone who's buying 50 packs for $8 deserves all the fail they get. I'm fucking sick of this stupidity.christoph wrote: yeah it seems to be more difficult to find dc emulator discs that work perfectly.
and whats up with those cd-rs you recommended? Is it because they are printable, or are they just the best. Just seem 2x as expensive. I'll pay that if its worth it..
oh - on the topic of NesterDCSE, I just downloaded that and burned it (works fine) but what the fuck is up with the scrolling system? Why the hell cant you put it in vertical list form. There is like 2000 roms on this one so its tediously dumb to look through all of them..haha - any way to change that or better nes emulator?
maybe I should just download one with less roms
Yes, someone hacked NesterDCSE to use the old style menu.

Those are the ones. Always make sure you get inkjet printable like that. Don't ever buy the Taiyo Yudens (or any brand) with the bare label surfaces (shiny). While the ink quality is still great, they are extremely fragile. Putting shiny label side discs in a cd booklet is suicide. Data layer will peel right off.christoph wrote: I was about to order these..

seem suitable enough?

Wow, angry. I post some first hand, if not slightly redundant information and then get accused of starting an argument? Maybe I wasn't contributing anything worthwhile, but my intentions are and have been pure, as can be proven by the rest of my posts on this forum. Your knowledge has never been doubted and I will step down if proven wrong. If I was irrelevant, then let me know, but you stated that in a combative manner and I don't feel that I have been trying to start an argument. I'll stop posting in this thread now in order to prevent any more misunderstandings or posts which could be in any way taken as causing trouble. Hope it works out, christoph. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Re: Burning Emulators help
I was successful using the Sony CD-R music 100 pack spindle that I picked up at BJs or Costco for my Dreamcast. They have a bluish tint for the dye. The drawback is that they don't work for my Saturn. It seems that the Saturn prefers normal CD-R (e.g, clear). I'll have to try the new clear ones that I just bought earlier today on the Dreamcast sometime over the next week.
I used Disc Juggler for burning Dreamcast backups. It seems to be the program of choice for the Dreamcast scene. For Gamecube & Saturn, I'll use ImgBurn which is free (although I made a donation).
[EDIT: Disregard what I said previously about the bluish-tint Sony CD-R not working on my Saturn. They work fine. I actually had a different problem where the power wire for my mod chip was across the CD drive circuit board. I think it was doing some sort of signal interference. Once I taped the wire so it did not go across the CD drive circuit board, things start working much better]
