Final Fantasy X frustrations
Final Fantasy X frustrations
I'm at the point where you get the airship and your basically just preparing to fight sin, and basically I'm just wandering trying to find the celestial weapons and stuff but I'm not having much luck. I'm trying to do this without using a strategy guide but I'm starting to think that might be stupid. Ive found the cloudy and celestial mirrors and two celestial weapons basically by dumb luck, it seems usually in FF games if you randomly talk to people they drop hints about what you should be doing but I'm clueless. Should I just give up and use a strat guide or I'm approaching this the wrong way?

Re: Final Fantasy X frustrations
A few of them are pretty ridiculous, but it is possible to get them without a guide.

I used to try to avoid using guides but now I'll try a little bit before consulting the guide. I have a huge backlog of games to play and so little time. I rather just play and enjoy the story/action.
Re: Final Fantasy X frustrations
To be honest, there is only one Celestial weapon you need, and that's Yuna's. 1 MP casting was insane back in FF6, and it's insane now. As soon as I got that I headed to Ultima Ruins (or is it Omega Ruins?) and spammed Holy until I got double cast and Ultima, then I went through and spammed dual Ultima.

I hate that they make items in games so hard to find you have no choice but to buy the guide. A example would be FF12, when you couldn't open certain chests in the game or you wouldn't be able to get the most powerful weapon in the game. There is no other way but the guide to identify these chests, what a ripoff. Almost seems lazy, instead of making a intelligent and challenging puzzle, you make it impossible to find something without the $20.00 guide. This cash milking tactic really turns me off to certain games.

Yeah, that was annoying in FFXII. I didn't even know about it until halfway through the game. I consoled myself with the fact that at high levels the damage formula means that the spear stops being the best weapon, as your single hit damage caps on several weapons and you want something that is more likely to multi-hit.

When you say Sin, do you mean Sin from the sides, Overdrive Sin, S, or BFA? (Initials used to prevent spoilers)
Re: Final Fantasy X frustrations
Its good to have some of the others, for summons. Each character's celestial weapon corresponds to one of the summons, allowing them to exceed "max damage".MrPopo wrote:To be honest, there is only one Celestial weapon you need, and that's Yuna's.
Re: Final Fantasy X frustrations
Breaking max damage is not that useful. Sure, it's good to have it, but if I had to play through the game again, I wonder if I would have done all the bullshit to get Tidus' weapon.

or Lulu's... I kept seeing lightning strikes in my field of vision, but then I found out I could pause during the sequence....
