I know everybody seems to rage over the lack of original IPs, but even I dream of playing (good) games that are based off of other properties. Certainly, I'm not the only one?
Anyway, tell me of your dream adaptation, and maybe explain why you think it'd make a good adaptation if it's not common knowledge.
For me, (And I know there's no way to say this without coming off as a Pocky-chewing, basement-dwelling Japanofile) I always have wanted to see a game based on Dirty Pair, Dirty Pair Flash or Gunsmith Cats. Think about it - They both have: Two Girls with Guns vs. Tons of Bad Guys, with car chases and explosions spread throughout. It's got Beat 'Em Up or Run and Gun written all over it. You've got your violence and your ever marketable cheesecake.
Another I'd like (And I'm sure there is no way to say this without instantly losing any shred of cool I might have), is one based on Sin City. I'd imagine it be like a mash-up of Madworld and Max Payne - hopefully only looking like the former and playing like the latter.
Video Game Adaptations You Dream Of
Re: Video Game Adaptations You Dream Of
I dream of a video game adaptation of Interstella 5555 by daft punk. There would be a huge variety of gameplay. Devil May Cry 3/Gungrave Overdose guitar swinging action, metal gear solid stealth, and tons of gitaroo man like rhythm sequences. They could even throw in on rails space shooting, or schmup sidescrolling all to a daft punk sound track. It makes me all fuzzy inside.
Re: Video Game Adaptations You Dream Of
I would like a slew of comic book games to actually be done right.
also- venture brothers would make a great game.

Ah, Venture Brothers. One of the only things on Adult Swim that is still good. I'd play it just for the chance to be Brock Samson. God, I love Brock Samson.nickfil wrote:I would like a slew of comic book games to actually be done right.

I'd also like to see a game based on Metalocalypse, and it not just be a Guitar Hero/Rock Band spin-off. I'm thinking a game where you play as band manager Charles Foster Ofdensen, and you "protect Dethklok's interests", probably by commanding Klokateers in an RTS.

Bad Dudes Vs. Dragoninja obviously. And if they don't give them an Oscar they will just kill everyone in their path.
I don't know of any videogame that can work as a movie. Sad? Well no, Portal has an amazing storyline but it would not work at all as a movie for example.

A video game adaptation of The Fugitive strikes me as something that would work very well.

You know, when I think about it, an Agent Aika game would be awesome too. Beat-'em-up/run-'n-gun with panties all over the place. Not bad.the7k wrote:For me, (And I know there's no way to say this without coming off as a Pocky-chewing, basement-dwelling Japanofile) I always have wanted to see a game based on Dirty Pair, Dirty Pair Flash or Gunsmith Cats. Well, I was talking about the other way around - not what video game you want made into a movie, but what movie (or comic book, or TV show, etc.) do you want made into a game?General_Norris wrote:Bad Dudes Vs. As for another movie I want to see as a video game - Snakes on a Plane.

Snakes on a Plane could only be an NES game. But what an NES game it would be.

I would like to see IGNorance: The Game.
First you would play a small mini game for about a minute. Then you would be given a virtual keyboard and piece of paper. You would be charged with writing the most biased review of the game possible. Once you were done writing the review you would have a certain amount of points given for how biased the review was. Then you'd get bonus points for each spelling mistake, grammatical error, or pop-culture reference you made. If you get enough points you'd get a "promotion" and would move to the next level.
The Wii version would have horrible graphics and unresponsive controls. The PS3 version wouldn't be nearly as good because it would get ported to the 360 a week later. And the 360 version would be so enormous and graphically demanding that your 360 would over heat and Red Ring after about an hour of game time.
Altogether you don't have to worry which version to buy because the game wouldn't have nearly enough Cloud or Sephiroth to be worth giving a damn.
