Just picked up the Street Fighter IV Fightstick.....

Post by kingdomheights777 »

My buddy who is the manager at gamestop called me and told me a guy is trading in SFIV arcade stick( the $60 one) in the box..so i ran over there and offered the guy 25 bucks for it and he took it. I plan on swapping out the stick and buttons for Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT and OBSF-30's and changing the artwork (maybe). I plan on heading home asap to try it out with SFIV......Anyone digging this stick?

Good score, lots of them had manufacturing issues so check everything twice to be sure the main PCB is good. Way better than the Hori EX2 IMO

I've got the T.E. stick which is really nice, but its really more about now well you execute with whatever you use.

That is one good score congrats on getting it kingdomheights777.. I like my TE stick just not the cost but it rocks so it evens out.. I'm going to be using it for all my fighters this gen so that helps: BlazBlue, Tekken 6, Street Fighter IV, King Of Fighters XII, etc...

So if you don't have the parts on hand then be aware that Lizardlick has been absolutely swamped. They seem to open the cart up for orders on Mondays until about 6pm EST, so it might take a while to get the joystick modded.

Sweet score, I bought one of the fightpads and it works pretty well. I still lust over those T.E. sticks though.

I don't know why but, I can't play fighters with sticks. I need a d-pad to maximize my destruction. I wish I could though as they look really cool.

Ok it works and feels great with SFIV, but i put in Metal Slug anthology for the heck of it and I couldn't get the controller to respond, it kept asking for me to press the PS button. I did that and nothing happened any suggestions....

Is the joystick registering as something other than controller 1 on your Playstation? Try holding down the PS button after Metal Slug loads and setting it to controller 1.

I'm almost positive it's not compatible.
The stick either takes the place of the analog stick or the D-pad, but not both at once. I've got the T.E. version and it's got a option specifically to switch between the two. Either way, $25 for that stick is a steal.
