theres a good chance I'm just weird and Im the only one that does this.
I started doing this when i got a copy of shenmue of ebay and it had the original receipt from 2000 in the box and since then I've started folding up the receipts of games I buy and putting them in the manuals.
Any one else keep the receipts from games they buy?

Yeah, I do the same as well. I also keep receipts from games I buy. The only exception is some games I buy on ebayCantStrafeRight wrote:theres a good chance I'm just weird and Im the only one that does this.

Care to explain your reasons?
Re: Any one else keep the receipts from games they buy?
I do this for awhile, especially with used games. I'm paranoid that I'll reach some point in the game where it will crash because of a bad part of the disc or something. I want to be able to return my product for a refund if that's the case. After a couple of months though, I usually throw out the receipts. I also keep an Excel database with an inventory of my games and the amount of money I paid for each game so that I can have a sense for how much of my budget is being spent on games. That way I don't get carried away... or at least I know how carried away I got.

I keep all the receipts for all the games and hardware I buy, have done so since I got my Genesis back in the day (when they were new).
Ow! My small intestine!

I bought the MOH Allied Assualt pack retail. It was years before I finally tried to install the Spearhead expansion pack. Turns out the disc was bad. So I guess its true, you CAN get a bad disc even if it's brand new.J T wrote:I do this for awhile, especially with used games. Although, the battery died in my original GoldenEye cart a few years after I got it. I had the box and every thing for it, but no receipt. I took it to a Wal Mart and they exchanged it for a new one for me.

Walmart is a shitty, shitty company but they do have the best return policy.

They are ruining the unique landscape of America. It used to be when you visited a town you could find a shop that was unique to that town or city. Big stores such as Walmart and Target are changing that by the day. Its a damn shame too. Back on subject I keep my reciepts after learning a tough lesson. I bought Star Ocean and it was loose in the case and scratched the disc and ruined it. I didn't unseal it for a month.Octopod wrote:Walmart is a shitty, shitty company but they do have the best return policy.
Re: Any one else keep the receipts from games they buy?
only keep em as long as they're worth keeping once the item is unreturnable the receipts are gone!
Re: Any one else keep the receipts from games they buy?
ive only ever done this by mistake and when I realized that I had kept the reciept I immediately threw it away
But honestly I do that with all reciepts regardless of what they are for... probably not the best habit
