When I was in college, I had my PS1 stolen. We lived in a suite, and one of the "suite mates" left the door to the suite unlocked where my PS1 was (I kept it out there because my roommate was a wus and went to bed at like 11pm every night, so if I wanted to play it had to be in the suite).

Anyway, I had some real nice games in the collection including an original black label FF7, FFT, Diablo, Civ II, and many more I can't remember anymore. In fact, they stole the PS1 and gmaes leaving my small TV! All I had left was 1 memory card that was actually in my room at the time...not sure how it got there, but nonetheless, I had one card left... Sadly, my 99:99 FF7 save file was stolen with the other cards.

I certainly feel for you. I was so upset when it happened.

Sucks man. This is some thing I fear a lot, not even for newer (PS3, Wii) games, but the older ones that are hard to get (or just that fact that it's a game you bought new from back in the 90's), so I can see what you're saying on that point. In fact, I fear it so much that I plan to get renters insurance once I can afford it. Theft, and fire is just as bad. Whether it's burnt to a crisp or out there in the world some where, makes no difference.

Kinda off topic, but it'll relate... Went to go to work one day and I had a flat tire. Turns out, I didn't have a flat, I had some one else flat! Over night, some d-bag had a flat and decided to replace it with one of my nice tires. The tire they gave me was horribly worn. Luckily, I have a full size spare, and my brother recently got me a brand new Michelin tire he found at his job so I had that mounted on my "new" rim. So I guess it wasn't a horrible loss, could've been worse if I had to spend money on a new tire. I did, however, buy wheel locks.

On the other hand I was, and still am, insanely furious over it. The fact that some one had the balls to do that right in front of my house. If I caught the person in the act, God knows what I would have done out of pure rage. So, to make a long story short, I really feel you on this one, man. I mean, I felt violated over the theft of a tire. I couldn't imagine how much worse I'd feel if some one broke into my house.

A couple of years ago I had a crackhead break in to my apt. and they stole a broken playstation but none of the games, a N64 with no games and very randomly my copy of Grandia 2 for the DC. I wasnt too sad about the PS1 or n64 but the Grandia 2 hurt. Crackheads obviously know what is worth money though lol.

Oh man that sucks. Another thing I haven't found yet is the disc for jet grind radio... I mean, they took the controller, the ps2 games, my roommates ps3, and THEN randomly took the game I had out because I had played it recently... I dunno. I was hoping to find it but I have indeed not simply misplaced it... WHAT THE FUH

And I would also like renter's inurance, but here i think it's an extra $50 or something a month so it'll have to wait.

$50/month, wow, that's high. I pay about $500 year to insure a 2500sf house in the suburbs.

That seems high. My renter's insurance is $20/month for an apartment in downtown Seattle.

Auburn, AL is known for charging an arm and a leg for anything apartment-wise. The town's economy is pretty heavily based on milking students dry.
