What are your "comfort" games?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Any Capcom "dial-a-combo" game (aka, any of X-Men/Marvel and SF/Capcom "vs" games). Just turn your brain off and piano-tap away. Great way to relax for me, for some reason.

And DoDonPachi. Popcorn enemies go "pop" so satisfyingly.

Tons of Shmups, there are a lot I could name, but I will single out Esp Da Rae, Espgaluda, and Hudson's Soldier series.

Lost Winds, I just finished my second play through, not a big surprise choice considering my avatar. That game has a great aesthetic and matching ambience. I like taking my time and wandering through the environment. I can't wait for the rumored sequel.

Phantasy Star 1 or 2. Mainly for nostalgic reasons. I know the games so well I can fly through them except for the latter dungeons. I like playing them on an emulator where I can speed the game up to reduce the amount of time needed for level grinding.

Fire Emblem series, currently Shadow Dragon. These are great because once you know the series the gameplay in all the games is familiar. Plus you can play them in small bursts, just one scenario at a time.

Twilight Princess and Super Smash Brothers Melee on Gamecube
Ridge Racer Type 4 and Grandia on PSX
Rocket Knight Adventures on Mega Drive
GTA: San Andreas and Shadow of the Colossus on PS2

Rocket Knight Adventures in particular I think I could almost play the entire game on hard without getting hit at one point, I knew EVERYTHING inside out and back to front.
