Whats up with Kojima's new game?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Haze will be remembered as the game that in-directly killed the Timesplitters franchise.

Snake: Get off my damn lawn!
Also, hasn't Snake been retired since Metal Gear 2?

I highly doubt Konami would allow the type of gameplay to be continued... and I wouldn't really want to play the game if it weren't done in that manner.
Which is why I'd prefer SD Snatcher remade in standard Snatcher style. People might not care too much for graphic adventures anymore, but people seem to be crazy about RPGs, and honestly - we could use a good one. None of the RPGs this gen have done it for me.

Also, wasn't there rumors floating around a while back that Snatcher was coming to the Nintendo DS? Also, the small-but-dedicated following for Sam & Max and Strongbad's Cool Game for Attractive People seems to indicate that there is still an audience for Adventure games... it's just probably not a large enough audience for Kojima to care.

That was my point, not large enough.

And it was also my point about SD Snatcher being remade.

We don't need more remakes, especially from Kojima. And the Graphic Adventure game won't do well. Yeah some people would love it, probably us here at Racket.

Adventure games have seen something of a small resurgence in recent years, namely due to the popularity of the DS. I wouldn't discount it completely.

I agree that nothing remotely looks apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic about the scene. Dead trees? I take it not many of you have seen a forest late in the year. The ranch doesn't look deserted - there's a single stretch of fence shown. It's not as if animals are flocking every available spot of land at every available moment. About the only ominous qualities are the cloudy sky and the stillness of it all, coupled with the frayed border. It doesn't give us an indication of much of anything, other than that we can presume it isn't a farming simulator. Or maybe it's a farming simulator featuring Solid Snake.

Though speaking of a post-apocalyptic scenario, the first thought I had was not a Snatcher remake but a Snatcher prequel; What were the events that lead to the virus outbreak?!

I don't know, to me it kinda looks like STALKER. Now that would be an interesting take...

I'm not sure why, but when I first saw the site I immediately thought of Nine Inch Nails' "Year Zero" advertising campaign. One of the websites that fans were lead to during the Year Zero game/campaign was an image that looked similar to what is now seen on the Kojima page. Dragging your mouse over the image revealed an apocalyptic image underneath. I know that Reznor said he's taking a break from the music industry for awhile when the current NIN tour is over. *dreams*

It has already been foretold how the fifth Metal Gear Solid shall be.

Maybe Kojima has become addicted to Harvest Moon and is going to make his own version of it.
