Historically accurate (well, for the most part) samurai anime. Really cool villians, similar in style to the ones in metal gear solid, just not as crazy in the head. The story is interesting as well, tho the OVAs are so so. Samurai X is entertaining, but I didn't like the one that where he married kaoru, kindof boring.
I liked the OVAs. Hated the series. All that "ORORORORO 0_O" bullshit. God, shoot me.
I don't remember any "ORORORORORO". I haven't watched it in a while, so what you talking bout? :?:

Then you haven't watched the series. Or maybe it was a sub only thing. Kenshin does something silly and gay every single episode and makes that 0_o face while saying "Orooooooooo" or some variation. Also happens when random girl reluctantly hurts him. Fucking retarded. I don't get it.

Why is it so hard for anime to convey humor? Aside from a few points in Trigun, I've never laughed at any show that was supposed to be funny.

I'm sure it's fashionable to bash him now because of the main stream success in America, but Miyazaki at his best can't be touched.

Nausicaa, to me, is the crowning achievement of all anime. I have the VIZ collection of the manga and it is great too. If you're an environmentalist at all the film will really touch you. I know some of Studio Ghibli's films are very youth oriented but Grave of the Fireflies and Nausicaa hold their own compared to live action epics like Gone with the Wind and The Godfather to me and I'm quite a film buff.

Evangelion is probably my fav anime series, but I think I'm just more of a fan of the feature film format. I watched Vampire Hunter D again the other day and still loved it after how many years.

What is the deal here? Dragonball is amazing :) Is natural that you still like it! Am I missing something here?

It just depends on the group you take part in. I got into DB around 97, and a few years later, it started to become huge in USA, right around when Funimation blessed us with some of the worst dubbing known to man starting at season 3. Before you knew it, DB was was shunned by the older crowd. It just wasn't cool anymore once we saw 12 year olds dressing up as Piccolo for Halloween, talking about HFIL and next dimensions and Hercule and shit. It sucked watching a legion of freakos rape the franchise.

Tenchi Muyo
That have always been my favorite Anime series, Ever. Tenchi is a good example of a series that mixed everything in like Si-Fi, Romantic, and Comedy in one series.

Outlaw Star
Often Compared to Cowboy Bebop, but IMO, it is the best rip off ever. Maybe the most underrated series ever.
