How do you spend your day?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I have four different types of days: teaching, research, writing, and leisure days (usually the weekends).

The teaching days consist of office hours, the obvious; teaching, and as many meetings as can be squeezed in.

Research days follow no set schedule. I could be doing any number of things ranging from interviewing people or conducting focus groups to participating in the setting itself. These are the most exciting but also the most physically and mentally tiring days.

Writing days entail a lot of multitasking between browsing the Internet, collecting and readling literature, playing games, transcribing and coding data and--oh yes--writing.

Lastly and most certainly the best type of days are those dedicated to leisure. I try to get most of my work done on the week days so I can have at least two days a week devoted to gaming, hanging out with my wife and just generally relaxing.

About the only consistencies across these days is some exercising in the mid-afternoon or evening and the routine checking of work and non-work related websites. I do almost always manage to squeeze in some gaming though.

Damn, General... full plate.

My days are spent job hunting, for the most part. I don't really schedule much, being unemployed and out of school at the moment... but maybe some structure would help.

I do make sure to spend any downtime reading, researching, and learning. Have to keep the mind in expansion mode... otherwise I just might lose it. lol

It sounds like a lot more than it really is. I do have time to lurk these forums, after all.

What do you teach?... and that will probably answer what area you are involved in research as well.

I didn't see any explanation in this thread but sorry if I missed something

I'm a sociologist, so no real science going on here.

hahah

I only took the 101 class (which was still very interesting), but I really enjoyed Social Psychology, which I had to take for my psy minor.

I find both fields really interesting. I often think that if more people looked into those two subjects, our country would be in much better shape.

I took brief sociology class, I thought by studying this maybe I can manipulate people. The other day I went back to read the text book only to find it stating that sociologist do not assume anything , they just study human way of life or something like that. So what good is it?
*****************

I have read ALL of your posts and what you do. As promised I'll tell you what I do.
I basically do not do anything.

I wake up at any time I want(today i woke up at 11pm). During a month's time I would probably wake up during every hour of the day, its like a cycle.
I do not work. I finished university two years ago and never done anything since then. I thought I would take a year break, its now two years.
I basically do not do anything, but the only consistent thing I do is browse the internet for hours each day and go hang out with my friends basically do nothing more than talking and smoking for 5-7 hours a day. Basically I am wasting my life with doing nothing useful at all. It has been at least 2 years on this schedule .

I was wondering how you spent your time to understand how other people go through their day and how much I am different. It is kind of a research thing. I noticed few things.
A lot of you say that you play from 4 to 9, or watch anime all day. How can you do so much of one thing?

After sometime watching a monitor I basically feel my brains being fried. I kind of start seeing things blurry due to so much concentration and I feel like having an upset stomach. I usually go out in the sun or open the window to smell fresh air.

Another thing I noticed is a lot of you have a schedule for doing things. I am not sure if I am the only guy out there that does this , but I can't do anything unless I am in the mood for it. I can't enjoy a game or do anything productive(passing a level) if I am not in the mood. I can't watch a movie if I am not in the mood. So you can figure out why I won't work, because if I am not in the mood I can't finish 1 paper. If I am not in the mood, I can't read. I would read 1 page out of a book , and read each paragraph several times because it doesn't get through my mind. On the opposite , when I am in the mood I storm through it.

Does any one else suffer from this?

Having a wife that gets your home chores done is a plus, not a negative, and to give that to a certain type of people (hispanic or not) is complementing them really. A wife that gets things done is better than a wife that never gets anything done , right?

Well lets see:

4 to 6- Wake up, get ready for school, mess around, check email.
7 to 3 pm- Sleep, take tests, pass class, sleep more
4 to 6pm- Fool around with my girlfriend
6 to 9pm- Eat dinner and play games, guitar, w/e
9 to 10- Jack off or something to pass the time
10 to 4- Sleep

All this while checking racketboy as much as possible.
Older. Not wiser.

sounds like you need a hobby... several hobbies. Learn something new everyday, challenge your mind and body, etc.

....and why would a wife want to do chores when her partner just lazes about? :> and vice versa
