I mean so bored that they care about what someone is doing 24 hours a day?
-Taking a shit
-Going to the store
-Relaxing
-Ate a pizza but it was cold
I mean is my own life that interesting that someone cares. No. Is anyone elses? no too
Don't follow me to twitter nor bother to join it!

Thankfully, I have no intention to.
Unless that was some complex reverse psych thing.

Yeah. Twitter is like Facebook but without all of the cool shit.
Re: Don't follow me to twitter nor bother to join it!
Never tried Twitter, I don't know what it is or its purpose and don't care either.

It's interesting how you people knock it when in reality you haven't even tried it.
I can think of three great uses for it off the top of my head.
1) Internet Marketing, Talking to your clients.. Updating them on your projects , getting your name out there.
2) Office room help, What is everyone working on? Where are we going to lunch today? emails and forwards are too difficult.
3) Search twitter in real time, connect with people talking about neo geo, people talking about your favorite band.
Boom.

So very true. Like texting, it's designed for people who want to have conversations without interrupting what they're doing in their life. Me, if I want to talk to people I'll go talk to people, either in person, on the phone, or on AIM. I don't feel that urge to give a quick shout to one of my boyz that so many seem to these days.fast wrote:Its text messaging for the pc
Now, I will admit that the interface can have its uses. One of my coworkers started a Twitter feed for his mom to subscribe to to give status updates on his fight, so that he didn't have to keep calling her with "Ok, my flights leaving at such-and-such", "we just touched down in Seattle", etc. And as mentioned, using it as a quick way to indicate that something new has come out for your business, or a new news item, all seem useful to me. But far too many people use twitter as text messaging on a global scale, and I just don't understand the impulse behind it.

One odd specific way I used it in college ( a few years back.. when it wasn't so.. popular)
Me and three of my buddies were constantly trying to plan date nights and activities and when we were hanging out.. and when we were out of class, that texting each other over and over again got a little redundant.
So we set up twitter accounts, that when each of us would text twitter. It would text all four of us what that person had said.
it was a big community feed . Its fun to go back and read all the old archives.

I'm still trying to reason the value of blogs, while all this twitter nonsense is going on. Both mediums could serve a few purposes, but 98% of the time, they don't.
