So I was browsing ebay toady and ended up buying a model 1 sega cd for not a lot of cash. I'm pretty excited as its the last of those machines that I always wanted as a kid that I dont own now.
The ebay deal comes a handful of mega drive games, but no CD games. I'm dead interested in FMV games and I see that Racketboy likes Sewer Shark, Night Trap and Ground Zero Texas, but what other FMV games are worth looking out for?
What were the best FMV games?
Re: What were the best FMV games?
Wasn't Road Avenger a decent fmv title on mega? Although I don't think exclusive.

Re: What were the best FMV games?
not sure if that counts as an FMV game - I'm after games with real actors in them.
Road Avenger looks pretty cool though, I like the graphical style and the cut scenes of people screaming

Good call nateup, Road Avenger is definitely an FMV game, and while it wasn't exclusive to the Sega CD, IMO it was the best version. Plus, the intro song is RIDICULOUSLY COOL!

Only jsut noticed the link you gave - my brain just skimmed that one altogether. Thanks - that was an interesting read and obviously Road Avenger is an FMV game after all.

I've also just spotted the seller lives 2 miles from my house - hopefully he'll be the decent sort and let me pick it up. Bonus

I dunno if you're just looking for Sega CD games or have a general interest in FMV. But Star Trek: Klingon (Win3.1) and Star Trek: Borg (Win 95) are both excellent FMV games. Of course, Gabriel Knight II is widely acclaimed too.
I'm also partial to FMV games. The cheese factor is off the charts.

Re: What were the best FMV games?
Rebel Assault is ok for an FMV game.... thats not saying much... Even the good ones are pretty bad. They are especially bad with the wonderful video and color capabilities on the SegaCD/Genesis

Time Gal is pretty decent for a FMV game.
Re: What were the best FMV games?
While were at it, I was just thinking of an FMV game I used to love on PC. It was called "The Daedalus Encounter".
I was a horny 14 year old with a sore wrist for Tia Carrera (sp) and asian women in general. If I remember correctly, it was actually kind of fun, made up of a cheese scifi story, tons of puzzles, and a huge poster of the lovely.
Ahh the memories.
Unfortuntely it was not released on Mega, but it was on PC (torrent) and 3DO if you have that.
Superlarz - I also really enjoyed Rebel Assault. (PC) The scanlines option really cleaned up the grain!
