Videogames are often accused of being sexist because of abnormally sexilicious proportioned 3D dolls like the breast physics enhanced tit bangers in Soul Caliber and DOA.
But it appears to me that the most sexist game ever is one you wouldn't expect. It's called Virtual Families.
I have a curiosity about casual games and the people who play them, so I took a pick at the trailer for this recent release on Steam. It looks like an innocent enough game on the surface. The cutesy graphics and Sims-like theme would make you think the developers maybe even wanted to target a female demographic... but when you watch the video, the sexism hits you like a backhand to the face. If the trailer is indicative of what the game is about, then first you pick out a woman. Naturally, you pick the prettiest most subservient and demure looking one. Before she takes even one step in the door of your house, BAM! You grab the bitch by her head and force her to work in the kitchen. If she doesn't like that and wants some food, then FINE! Here's some food, but guess what, you're not eating any of it! I'm grabbing you by the hair and tossing you in the laundry room! You're doing laundry now woman! CLEAN Damnit! Oh, you want a break? Marry me through some cheap online dating service and pump out a bajillion little babies! YEAH! Take THAT feminist revolution!
Dahahahaa! This is the most stupid and unintentionally politically incorrect game in ages.

I don't know...I'd still vote Custer's Revenge or Beat 'Em and Eat 'Em.
Re: The most sexist videogame ever
OK, Custer's Revenge has the one up on it for being both sexist and racist.
I hadn't heard of beat em and eat em before, but a quick google search proves it to be a contender as well.

Re: The most sexist videogame ever
I can think of far more explicit and hardcore "erotic videogames"... especially ones NOT on the atari.Ack wrote:I don't know...I'd still vote Custer's Revenge or Beat 'Em and Eat 'Em.
Although it's hilarious when you see those games. My GOD who bought those things????
Personally though I'd leave "erotic/adult games" out of the loop because pornographic depictions automatically can be thrown into the "sexist" pile quick and easy. But in the same respect can be pulled back out just as easily as its form of entertainment is that in its own... sex. And sex being sexist is a matter of taste in the sex. Is Dom fetish sexist (male or female)??? It's a fetish.
But then many would baulk the other direction saying no matter what pornography is sexist and yell things like stripping is sexist. But then I'm the proponent of "they chose to dance", or in the case of hookers "they chose to sell their bodies". And hey they make a pretty neat buck off of lonely desperate men... who's getting taken advantage of again? I've had several friends put themselves through college by dancing, and I've known several men who had stripper girlfriends as "suga' mamas". So ok... that's all perspective. (bar in mind, I personally don't like strip clubs mainly because I can see tits for free elsewhere, with more affordable booze, and not walk out wondering where that 200 dollars in my wallet went to).
So back at my original point. For the sake of coinsideration, I'd leave "erotic videogames" out of the whole "sexist game" list. When you go looking for the the movie with the most sex scenese would you go through the entire porn catalog? No, it's one long sex scene... so why bother include them.
In my book, a woman tied naked to something with a dick in her ass is pornography, a form of entertainment, and is not sexist in any manner... only offensive to those who don't want to see it (unless of course this image is from a snuff film... then it's rape). But the depiction of a gender in a demeaning role with respect to their normal lives is sexist. For instance the statement "women belong in the kitchen" or "all women are whores".
Re: The most sexist videogame ever
The problem I had with Custer's Revenge was that rape was the purpose, at least at first. After catching flak, the game was edited so that the woman was more "willing." She'd motion Custer over to her.

Re: The most sexist videogame ever
As for the videogame posted by OP
Heh, "find a mate" and she logs onto a mathchmaker website! My god... the social atmosphere we live in today is hilarious!
I've noticed more and more the "west" has been becoming more and more attracted to these "life sim" games and even "dating sim". For how long have we laughed at these "dating sims" out of Japan. I think it's only a matter of a decade before we have the same damn crap here. Shit from the looks of this game we have just until this thing is released!!!!
But I don't think it's sexist.
Now I get it, JT is making jest with this thread... or I assume as much. But the actual statement of being sexist, or prejudice, or any of that bigotry is thrown around way to much in my opinion.
Now OF COURSE there are things that we need to rethink... for instance the way we treat our fucking homosexuals, I find it hilarious everytime I see these commercials about gay marriage and how "evil" it is. I think to myself about when I was in history class and all of us students were dumbfounded how people 50+ years ago thought blacks were "evil" and the propaganda that floated around. Yet here we are digesting the same CRAP and a large group of us believing it just as ignorantly.
But I digress
This doesn't mean sexism/prejudice is popping up in every fucking corner. Just because a woman is depicted as a mother doing laundry isn't sexist. MOMS DO LAUNDRY! So do dads, but the scene has ONE person... what are we going to always show split screens of it or something? NO. In the same respect if I watch a TV show about a family of Jewish folk, I'm not expecting the "black neighbor" to come walking in the house ALL THE TIME like they fucking live there. Vice versa, when I watch a black family in some tv show... I'm not expecting the "white neighbor" to coming over for dinner and laughs. Now if this fits into the storyline or something... ok... then do it. But when you put some minority figure into some token role so you can "prove" your not being prejudice is a bunch of fucking crap!
My point... human right vs. political correctness. I'm ALL for the human rights, but when you cloud human rights up with all this garbage political correctness you lose sight of what you've been fighting for. You waste your time castrating words and opinions instead of winning battles against REAL tragedy. You'll never erase words and opinions from the world people, but you can stop laws that take rights away from real people and actions that bigots make that actually HURT people... not just their fucking feelings.
Cause you know what! They're feelings. My feelings are hurt every fucking day of the week. Big fucking DEAL! I can still live through that stupid nonsense, I don't need the whole world to love. What I DO NEED is the whole world not to be burning crosses in my yard and hanging nooses around the necks of people, or beating a homosexual to death for "gaying up the bar with his presence".
Back in that game though. Doing laundry, cooking, cleaning... oh my God... cause in a game simulating life in a house and then having you clean that house is sexist. Ummm, then what ARE we supposed to be simulating?

Re: The most sexist videogame ever
Princess Maker 2 gives you the option of sending your daughter to work at the burlesque house. And there are multiple prostitute endings, where she becomes a dominatrix, a high class whore, or a regular whore.

I loved Princess Maker 2 =P Had, like, 40+ endings. That's some replay value.MrPopo wrote:Princess Maker 2 gives you the option of sending your daughter to work at the burlesque house. And there are multiple prostitute endings, where she becomes a dominatrix, a high class whore, or a regular whore.
Ya know, when I saw the topic, I read it as "The most sexiest videogame ever." Oh well.
Re: The most sexist videogame ever
Why do guys never complain about videogames being sexist?
Women complain about the big breasted heroine.
Why do guys never complain about the bare chested, muscle bound hero? It's not an accurate depiction of the average man. Why aren't more action heroes middle aged, overweight, and balding?
