porn spam flood

I got to the site this morning and clicked on "View new posts". Wow, there was a bunch of porn spam.

Is there anything that can be done to prevent this?

make the "whatever" forum only available to registered users.

Actually, the user posted in a bunch of different areas, not just "whatever". Perhaps it would make sense to restrict new users to create only one or two threads per day in their first 30 days or something like that.

Manually validate every user. It may sound ridiculous, but I think it's the best solution to weed out the fakes.

Everything other word in the whole spam flood had something to do with porn, and then right in the middle of it all... "Iceland"

what has Iceland done to deserve this??
