Yeah and Im a fairly recent arrival from Texas (about a year ago) so I have no idea how the plowing stuff works. Work should be picking up soon but the economy still sucks so well see. Pretty soon there should be an influx of money and construction projects so it looks pretty positive. Sitting around getting unemployment may sound good to some people but you got to remember you only get 50% of what you normally make.lordofduct wrote:My family up in Mass and Connecticut is the same way. Every winter shit just disapears, especially in the light of recent years. My brother usually drives down here for the winter and gets some part time job waiting tables or something and just relaxes on the beach.Octopod wrote:I dont really have a schedule. I sleep in late and sit on the internet or play video games all day for the most part. I work in construction and there is no work right now so Im collecting unemployment.
It's nice getting to visit and all. But christ when my cousin owes me 6 grand, it ain't fuckin' cool! When I lived there my pops plowed snow all winter, but from what I hear there isn't much money left in that... not enough snow these winters.
How do you spend your day?

Re: How do you spend your day?
M-F, I get up for work around 7am, eat and get ready for work, check my email and head out.
8am-5pm (sometimes later) I spend about half the time on work related stuff, the other half goofing off on the computer (usually its this way, though sometimes are busier than others), I sneak in a half hour to hour lunch sometime in there. A lot of time I end up just eating at the desk browsing the net.
530-630pm, I get home for work. Help the Wife make dinner, eat with the family, then we will then sit down and watch either some TV or a movie, play some games, screw off on the PC until bedtime around 11-12pm. Sometimes we do this as a family, sometimes not.
I work every 3rd Saturday for about 4-5 hours. I usually don't do anything, just sit here in case there's a problem so I usually spend that day playing a web game or watching something off of Hulu.
Saturdays and Sundays, my Wife works evenings, so I usually spend the first part of the day with the family and I make breakfast. Sometimes we go out for a little while and sometimes it's just a lazy day at home. When the Wife goes off to work, the kids usually run things. They tell me what they want for dinner, they watch their shows in the living room. I usually just end up on the PC spending way too much time reading about games and not playing them.

8:30: I plead with my alarm clock to stop screaming at me.
8:45: I get a shower and get dressed, cursing the Sun for being bright.
9:30: I start driving to my class(es), depending on which quarter.
10:00: I get to class and buy a daily Monster drink from the vending machine. If there is no Monster, I start damning anything and everything that exists.
12:00-ish: I finish class and head home, play either WoW and/or one of my consoles, depending on my mood.
14-16:00: I drive to the Clinic that I work at (as a file clerk, not a doctor..)
18:00: Take a break from working and talk with the doctors about WoW (3 Doctors on my clinic play WoW o.O)
22-00:00: I head home, play either WoW and/or console games.
1:00: Sleep.
At least 2 weekdays (which causes me to work weekend) I head to my girlfriend's house, which is devoid of consoles and internet, and catch up on news and TV shows, all the while having the "Leash" tightened ever so slightly.

Re: How do you spend your day?
Lately, my time has been spent stalking all day long a dude who offered me a job and still haven't called back (the guy owns an English school and offered me a position as teacher; he was supposed to call me and tell me my schedule and classes, which he never did. Now I want to (a) chase him until I get hired or (b) if he doesn't actually hire me, I'm gonna punch him in the face or something for fucking me around).
Before that, I spent days sending resumes and looking for a job. And watching animes, series and stuff, and reading (I even caught up with Bleach, both the anime and the manga, in one week).
But no, I don't have a very fixed routine.

Re: How do you spend your day?
Right out of Office Space my life consists of as little work as possible without getting fired.
I wake up a 5:45 and shower. And since my wife is hispanic my clothes, breakfest, and lunch are ready and waiting with a kiss out the door at 6. Roll into work a 6:45 and for the next 8 hours I really do only about 15 minutes of real honest work. The rest of the time it's Ebay, gaming sites, and email.
I'm home by 4pm and the rest of the night I play dumb and try to get out of any chores my wife may have in mind all the while try to game and still stay in her good graces to have a good tickle before bedtime. It's a very delicate balance but it works.
The weekends are all about Mileena, my 4 year old. We usually make Sunday's, Sunday Bundy Fundays so that leaves Saturday for me. I try to get some more gaming in and my Saturday's during college football season are ALL MINE! No questions asked.

What does this have to do with being hispanic? Is there some maid parallel or something?h8b1llg8ts wrote:...And since my wife is hispanic my clothes, breakfest, and lunch are ready and waiting with a kiss out the door at 6...

No no guys ... I'm just saying I'm blessed. But being a guy from around a couple of blocks I have found that the hispanic culture sure does know how to take care of their men.Mozgus wrote:Sounds more like a 1940's white America thing.dlmvii wrote:What does this have to do with being hispanic?
