Since it's such a small print run, and that it's in high demand then yeah it's Pre-Order only if you wanted it in a brick and mortar store.

Looks like I will Amazon it, then. Thanks - didn't realize it wouldn't be in stores.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Since it's such a small print run, and that it's in high demand then yeah it's Pre-Order only if you wanted it in a brick and mortar store.

My local EB doesn't even take chances with smaller titles sitting on the shelf. Manager's policy is "if no one pre-ordered it, then it won't be on the shelf". I wonder how much control he really has in what gets shipped to his store??Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Since it's such a small print run, and that it's in high demand then yeah it's Pre-Order only if you wanted it in a brick and mortar store.

Bought my copy today at Gamestop. $20. Great price. I look forward to kicking some asses on the leaderboards.

Managers and employees have absolutely 100% no control over what gets sent or ordered out from their store by warehouse or corporate. The computer usually orders two copies for every game Pre-Ordered unless either less than 100 thousand copies were printed, or there is no spare supply. It's not the manager's policy wether he wants it in his store or not, in the end believe it or not the customers actually decide wether or not a store will carry a particular item based on Pre-Orders which the computer (and subsequently corporate) perceives as consumer demand for that item at that location.shallowgamer wrote:My local EB doesn't even take chances with smaller titles sitting on the shelf. Trust me when every foot of wall space in your store is worth $800-$900 in marketing and product placement (I'm not kidding those are the real numbers) heads are gonna roll if you have a bunch of freshly delivered inventory that refuses to move fast.

So then he wasn't kidding, right? No preorders equals none on the shelf?Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Managers and employees have absolutely 100% no control over what gets sent or ordered out from their store by warehouse or corporate. Yeah he wasn't kidding, I learned myself the hard way when I started working at GS and found out how the computer ordering system works.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:So then he wasn't kidding, right? Ordered from Amazon last night. This will be the first shmup I've purchased since Ikaruga XBLA, which I really only bought to support a great re-release by a small developer. (The damn thing is too hard for meager skills.) Looking forward to playing something mere mortals can hack.
