Just watched The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.(yes thats how they spelled it.) Probably the most depressing movie you will see this year. If you watch it with your wife/girlfriend then they will be crying by the end for sure.

So a yugioh fan is telling us about story structure. That's fucking rich.Reverend wrote:X-Men Wolverine Origins

Just finished watching The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, with my girlfriend. Wasn't sure if I would like it at first, it was her turn to pick the movie we were going to watch since I subjected her to The Warriors and Red Scorpion. Ended up really enjoying the movie by the end of it.

I saw wolverine origins, someone needs to pm me about the secret ending, had to walk out b/c i drank wayyyy to much soda.
Saw Star Trek the same night, which was epic, and possibly better than wolverine.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
My wife wants to see Wolverine. I have no interest. Looks like the kind of movie I'll laugh the whole way through.
But, we're seeing Star Trek tomorrow. We're both pumped about that one.
I want to chime in on the discussion about critics. I just don't think most of them write for/think about the mass, mainstream audience. I don't think this is necessarily a good thing or a bad thing, it's just reality. You can't hardly ever expect a critic to like a comic book movie. I think the main reason the new Spider-Man and Batman movies received such high marks is that they were good (not great - I agree with Moz here) and the critics are pleasantly surprised then give it a thumbs up.
Also - really liked No Country. I've been a big Coens fan since The Hudsucker Proxy, so maybe I'm pre-disposed.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?

Finally tracked down my missing Akira Kurosawa's Dreams DVD. What a visceral, beautiful experience watching it has been.. My favourite dream was the Tunnel.. But I didn't quite get the angry dog bit. Was it portraying the souls of the defeated Japanese armymen?
