Painting my Dreamcast Amateurly

I recently bought a Dreamcast with a complete package for 40$ at a local game store, and I have been loving it ever since. Sadly the color didn't appeal to me. So I got some spray paint and set out to do a lazy paint over.

EWWWWWWWW I hated that chipping, so I decided I repaint it OD green. I first did the top, but stopped and realise that it matched nicely with the red so heres the finish product (s).














Tell me what you think. And I know I did sloppy, but its just something to look less bland.

Krylon Fusion spray paint for plastic is your best friend. Also use either electrical tape to cover the DC's logo on the drive door, or get an X-Acto knife and lift it off, paint, then super glue it back on.

Another thing s that if you're going to paint the modem take it apart then paint the shell separately, as painting the inside of the Phone Jack like you did can be a serious fire hazard.

It looks rusty, what is it with people insisting on ruining dreamcasts? Cant they just leave the poor things alone? I think someone needs to set up a Battered Dreamcast Shelter that can take in any dreamcast that hasn't had a good home life.

Would a Dreamcast with a paint job that's done with great care and detail be considered battered?

To the OP, this thing has "rush job" written all over it. I'd buy a parts Dreamcast from ebay and pop a brand new case on it.

Yeah, sorry to be an ass but that looks pretty shitty. The colours don't match at all, you've painted over the DC logo and you didn't even bother to take the modem apart, it's just 2 screws...

The controllers look okay though. I quite like the two tone on the controllers but it's just lazy not painting the rest of the DC.
