GameStop to cease selling/trading GBA, GCN. and PS2.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I still say it would be great if they put information like this in the tv ads, instead of getting all these exclusive DLC for preorders like the Wolverine danger room levels. That just makes me hate GS even more.

It would, but the main problems with selling a dead system like the GCN to Wii customers would be a lack of quality controllers, and memory cards. It might not seem like it, but we haven't had an official GCN controller, or memory card come in for weeks, and when they do they don't stick around for more than a day or two before they disappear due to no longer being produced for the American market. If we had a more steady stream of games and accessories coming in and selling then I'd see the heads at corporate taking notice and truly giving the Cube the rightful marketing budget it deserves.

Oh my local GS still has some official controllers and official accessories. I even bought a wavebird recently for $18. One of the only deals I ever got there.

I've only snagged three Wavebirds in the year or so I've worked at GS as soon as they came in all at once from a guy who traded in a ton of Cube stuff at once.

I guess it's time to finish off last few games I want to get... A great chance to complete my PS2, GCN collection. I only have to pick up a final few games to finish off my collection before Game Stop quits selling them.. Also, I want to get 'em before some of the titles become rarities as others have mentioned as well.. 8)

Wait a sec - does this mean PS2 will be phased out completely by the end of this year?

I know it is nearing the end of its life, but I thought it still had a little steam left in it. I still hear about games being announced for it every now and then; Sakura Taisen being one of them.

You would be wise to not wait too long to pick up your Advance, Cube, and PS2 games. I suspect they'll do the same thing they did for Xbox games when they stopped buying them back in January. That is, transfer them out to the stores that aren't selling very many to stores that are. I went to Gamestop the other day all pumped, hoping to pick up a game I had seen just a few days before only to find that they had transferred their entire Xbox stock to another store. It was not a happy day.

No, we're simply going to stop buying New games, and doing trades. Also the date could change, it's just all up to how well we do on sales for the year.

this may be a good thing for all those little shops in various towns with EB stores now people will visit them for these older games
