ugh... why do companies keep putting games like this on the Wii? It's completely unfair to put a hard core game with a huge fan base on a system with mountains of shovelware. It's like they're forcing people to buy a city block piled stories high with shit just so you can get to a really nice sweater or two that's buried somewhere in all of it.

And don't give me the excuse of, "it's using SNES style sprites to it's a perfect fit." Megaman used the same NES sprites and game engine and Capcom had no trouble putting it on all three systems.

Let the Wii succumb to the silly cooking and pet games and at least put the real games on the other platforms as well.

All the good remakes are going to Wii: Contra, A Boy and his Blob, Punch-Out!!, Resident Evil, Zelda Ocarina of Time, Klonoa, Silent Hill... then there's the sequels Mega Man 9, Sin and Punishment 2, Muramasa: Demon Blade. The Wii is becoming the nostalgia system of choice.
I'm starting to think the same thing, had one till my roommate moved out, didn't really think I'd miss it.

I hope Konami puts a little more effort into this than the Gradius Wiiware game. It wasn't bad, but parts of it felt phoned in. Contra is a much more popular franchise to Americans than Gradius so I have a feeling it will be coming to the States/Europe. I look forward to the reviews.

In other Wiiware news Cave Story is due to be released any week now, I can't wait to play through it again and get all of the things I missed on the first go. I hope the developer banks off of it.

I wonder if the Hi-Rez textures could be transplanted to and actual N64 system, maybe with the Expansion Pak?

No, it's more like you go to a candy store and have to spend a while to find the one jar with the chocolate covered raisins in it. No one is forcing you to buy the gummy bears.

Thank you.

It's more like buying ANY video game console EVER and making sure YOU purchase the RIGHT games.

Just because you can't bother to be informed doesn't mean it's a fact. The Wii is a solid system with a ton of quality experiences to offer and a brand new Contra is a welcome release.
