Finally. I'm sick of all the party/dance/rhythm/meatloaf baking games for ds (which is why I haven't bought a ds game in like a year) but this actually looks good and I think these sort of retro styled game is what handhelds do best. Since consoles have pretty much gone 100% 3D it's sad to see that advancements in tech are causing handhelds to do the same thing.
Starfish platformer game that looks awesome
Re: Starfish platformer game that looks awesome
Stafy games are lots of fun, I think that's something like the 4th one. They started on the gba but never made it to the us till now.

You really haven't seen any DS games worth owning over the past year? Do I really need to list all the "hardcore" purchases I've made for the DS that came out this past year?

Ok, let's see, just the ones that came out in the last year (with some fudge factor):
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Chrono Trigger DS
The Dark Spire
Dragon Quest IV
Dragon Quest V
Etrian Odyssey II
Final Fantasy IV
Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon
Izuna 2
Myserty Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer
Pokemon Platinum
Rondo of Swords
Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2
There are a few others I have that have been disappointing, so I didn't list them. And there's a bunch more in my Backloggery, but this was just the releases from the past year.

Well other than castlevania everything there is an rpg, which I don't play, and I'd factor trauma center into the rhythm/meatloaf baking category.
Re: Starfish platformer game that looks awesome
Ahhh, that makes more sense then. The DS has been the RPG/SRPG paradise this generation, but if you're not into those games then I can see slimmer pickings.
Really, though, have you ever tried Trauma Center? You should really give it a shot before writing it off.

I thought the PSP was where the SRPGs were at.MrPopo wrote:Ahhh, that makes more sense then. The DS has been the RPG/SRPG paradise this generation, but if you're not into those games then I can see slimmer pickings.

Trauma Center is not only very nice, but not easy at all. It's some twitch gaming particularly if you want to S rank, you really have to move the stylus. Seriously, whoever doubts that look up some youtube videos of the different GUILT strains. I would sort of be ok with considering the non-GUILT levels sort of cooking style (although even some of them have some frantic action), but whenever you have GUILT patients it's really video-gamey - the "disease" moves
