Re: Gaymers
Somehow I'm not surprised to find talk of men eating meat in a thread with "gay" in the title.
Re: Gaymers
I like my meat brown and pink not red. Also, it makes me gay when I eat meat.Mozgus wrote:Somehow I'm not surprised to find talk of men eating meat in a thread with "gay" in the title.
Re: Gaymers
Yeah, anchor has pretty good stuff. Unfortunately, they were with my main competitor. 3 or 4 bucks is about what it costs for a decent bottle here, however that translates. Average Americans are incredibly stupid when it comes to beer (just like food, music, etc), so you have to be in the right establishment to even drink anything decent. That Danish Rauchbier is most likely not available here (as some of our best are not available there), but I love teh Rauchbiers that I have had. We sold AECHT SCHLENKERLA's Marzen Rauchbier and I really enjoyed that one. Its so insanely smokey, its hard to believe that it just came from the barrells.Niode wrote:Haha, sounds awesome.
Yeah the greene king and old speckled hen stuff is the stuff that is very common and cheap in the supermarkets over here. It's passable when you walk into a bar and all they have is lager,'cider' or bottles and bottles of girl drinks and one actual hand pump. Good luck finding somebody to actually serve it, I just sigh when I walk into a pub that has 1 handpull. You're almost guaranteed a terrible pint.
There's quite a few American beers I like, Anchor's Liberty is one of my faves, the local coffee shop stocks (and plenty of other tasty american beers, as well as a big selection of continental pils and biers.) then there's the trendy bar down the road that stocks a lot of Anchor beers and usually have at least 5 different American beers to choose from. They have a vast selection of continental beers, it's bleeding expensive though. Usually £3-4 a bottle and we're talking continental sizes here so it's not even a pint, more like 33cl bottles. Then there's the other pub that I frequent that has over 100 different bottled beers from all around the world. They have a gorgeous Danish smoked Rauchbier that's nearly 9% but it's totally worth it.
If I weren't in the music industry I'd be in the Alcohol industry I can tell you that for a fact.
One of my biggest German's was Weinstephan... they had the coolest promos with pictures of nuns drinking big frothy pints... plus it is rather easy on American's niave palettes, making it an easier sell.
My fav brewery from here is probably still Stone Brewery in Southern Cal. That Ruination IPA would probably get you high even if they removed the alcohol (just from the ridic hoppes content)!
Re: Gaymers
Gee, around Cleveland good beer is easy to find, thanks to the Great Lakes Brewing Company being right here. Any pub or restaurant worth its salt has at least Dortmunder Gold on tap and a couple other varieties bottled.
Re: Gaymers
It's the same in this country, you really have to hunt around to find the decent drinking establishments, especially in town/city centres. Most people in this country are content paying £3 for something that resembles fizzy piss (aka lager).
Cheers for the recommendations, I shall my keep an eye out for them. They sound awesome. I love my beers ridiculously hoppy.
