Very Important Message

I'm sure many, if not all, of you are aware of the Patriot Act. It basically states that if the government has reason to believe you're a terrorist, they can barge into your house and arrest you without giving you a reason. A 16-year-old boy was placed under arrest because he was supposedly making bomb threats. These threats were actually being made from a hacker, who has been harassing the family for a while now. The boy even had a solid alibi that could easily be investigated to prove his innocence. He's been locked up for two months, they still aren't really letting the mother talk to him, and she doesn't know when she'll see her son again. This is an abuse of power and something has to be done about it. Under the Patriot Act your rights are stripped. Do we really have any rights when they can be taken away just because you are believed to have done something without even being proven guilty?

You're a few years behind on this. The Patriot Act has been going on for a while now. And the real thing that you should worry about is whether they'll renew it when it runs out in a few months.

Who cares? You'll care when they take you or someone you know away. If something is unjust it must be challenged. You don't just "get used to it." Look at the Civil Rights Movement.

I've had close friends completely stop speaking to me upon learning that I just don't care at all about these kinds of government conspiracy stories. I ignore them much like I ignore the news stations. I just don't have any interest in living a fearful life.

You want to rally for your cause? Do it outside. You're not going to find a lot of support on a videogame forum.

It's not really a government conspiracy story, it's very much in the open. Reckon the debates whether torturing prisoners is legitimate, suspension of habeas corpus and the like.

Obviously, you have every right to not care about it, but these worries are not product of unproven conjectures or sheer lunacy.
