Howdy folks, and welcome to the Games Acquired 2024 thread where we share our latest gaming acquisitions! As the resident recovering bad-financial-decision-maker of the forums, I figured it was appropriate that I start the thread this year as I did the few last years. Feel free to share as little or as much as you want in any format you want (within reason). Below are links to previous years' threads if you need an example.

Markies' Games Acquired List Of 2026!
1. Mario Pinball Land (GBA)

I added Mario Pinball Land for the GameBoy Advance on January 1st!
Thank you for creating this thread! I appreciate it.
On January 1st, I use the Backloggery Roulette to randomly buy one game off my Wishlist. This year, it chose Mario Pinball Land on the GameBoy Advance. Apparently, this is not a great game as I read and saw many reviews of people who did not like it. However, I have played a very tiny bit of it and I was enjoying it so far. I am kind of hesitant to play it, but I still hope that it will be okay.

Re: Games Acquired 2026
So far I have picked up a really lovely condition copy of Pokemon Pinball for the Game Boy Color, Shining Force for the Game Boy Advance, The Punisher for the Xbox, Scrapland for the Xbox, Leisure Suit Larry for the Xbox and Blur for the 360. I also recognise the irony of Blur being blurry in the photo below

January 2026:
Pokemon Pinball (Game Boy Color)
Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon (Game Boy Advance)
The Punisher (Xbox)
Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude (Xbox)
Scrapland (Xbox)
Blur (Xbox 360)

Markies' Games Acquired List Of 2026!
1. Mario Pinball Land (GBA)
2. Ys: The Ark of Napishtim (PS2)

I added Ys: The Ark of Napishtim for the Sony Playstation 2 this afternoon!
Starting last year, I have a yearly tradition of buying a game for myself on my Birthday. This year, I chose Ys: The Ark of Napishtim for the PS2. I tried to get into the early Ys games, but I could not get past the bump style game play. But, the modern Ys games look incredibly, so I have heard that this PS2 version is a great introduction into the series. So, after many years of searching and never finding, I figured now would be a perfect time to finally give this one a go.

Re: Games Acquired 2026
I picked up Ridge Racer 3D on the 3DS and it seems like a great version. It plays a lot like Ridge Racer 6 as far as I can tell. The 3D effect is also great if you're into it.
I also got Final Fantasy VII Remake for the Switch 2. I have the original on PS4 and the free PS5 upgrade, but I am having a blast playing through it again. It's so convenient being able to play it on a portable device.
Edit: I also picked up Sensible Soccer 2006 for the Xbox.

Re: Games Acquired 2026
This week I got Dynamite Deka (Die Hard Arcade) and X-Men vs Street Fighter for the Saturn. These are two games I have always wanted for the console and so pleased to finally have them, particularly the latter. I remember reading the review of X-Men vs Street Fighter for the Saturn in GamesMaster magazine all the way back in the 90s and I instantly wanted it. I think it might have been in one of the first issues I bought. Of course, it never actually made it out in the West and the PS1 port which did come out here was much worse.
I have a couple of other Japanese Saturn games on the way, which I am looking forward to getting.

Re: Games Acquired 2026
Nice! Two great games I have myself. These are two games that I also played a lot of in the arcade at my local mall when I was in middle school. Have you played them before?
One of these days I should really get my Sega Titan Video out and play through my arcade cart of Die Hard Arcade. Even more so now that I could play it with the Octopus.

Thanks! So I have played X-Men vs Street Fighter briefly thanks to the recent Marvel vs Capcom collection on modern platforms, but I have never played the arcade original or Saturn port.
I never played Die Hard Arcade (actually, I might have downloaded it and played it via emulation a long time ago, but if I did I don't remember anything about it), but I have played the sequel on Dreamcast, which I own. I quite like the Dreamcast one, but most people say the original is way better, so I am looking forward to playing it when I get around to it.
