Exactly! So many "pumpkin" things just punch you in the face with nutmeg and cinnamon. That's why I like the Mother Pumpkin Ale. It still very much tastes like a beer, but with a hint of pumpkin. If I'm not paying attention while drinking it, I forget that it's pumpkin at all. And that's what I like about it. I hate the overly pumpkin (nutmeg and other spices) flavored things. I think I remember reading that it's made with or from real pumpkins.

As a fan of a lot of pumpkin things, I could never get behind pumpkin beer. I’ve had two separate ones and hated them equally.

So I picked up Founders Breakfast Stout. WOW!

That one is a little strong on the the coffee flavors for me but still pretty good. Stouts and porters are my favorite type of beer so here are a few that I recommend.

Do you mind sharing some thoughts on this one? I've always wanted to try it but I just haven't picked it up yet. Kinda on the pricier side at $15 a four-pack in my area.

Chipmunks in NYC are an extremely rare occurrence. I know I’ve seen many in NJ (specifically northern NJ). No, in this case it was squirrels.

Snagged a six pack of Brooklyn Brewery's Black Chocolate Stout. Only 3 more remained, so I might swing by tomorrow and grab the rest. That should set me up all nice and pretty for a few weeks.

Ever had Zywiec Porter? I last mentioned it in 2012, but I found out the Russian store near me stocks it regularly, and only $4 for a 500 mL bottle. This might be my favorite go-to beer, especially for the price.
