They had an arcade version of Strider 2? I thought it was a console exclusive.

I got Strider 2 around the time it released, and played it a fair amount, but around 15 years ago I was looking at trying to sell it because I thought the discs being misprinted was a me thing and not an everyone thing. No one seemed to be interested in paying more than about $10 for it, so I ended up just holding onto it. The price it's going for now makes my head spin. I don't understand what happened. I don't think it was ever even particularly uncommon--.

Yes, there is an arcade version of Strider 2! Around 2008 when I wanted to revisit the game, I played the MAME rom, as I don't think PS1 emulation for Mac was a thing at the time. There doesn't seem to be too many photos of the arcade cabinet out there, but I do see one or two of cabinet's marquee. Perhaps it's an uncommon cabinet, which would be interesting, as I didn't think it was.

When I have some free time, I'll take a look and see if I snapped photos of the cabinet when I was last at Barcade.

Also, that's funny about the disc misprint story. It kinda bothers me that it's misprinted actually. Lol. But I guess they never re-released the game with the correct labels.

I recently bought Parappa the Rapper 2 and Resident Evil: Outbreak for the PS2.

Parappa the Rapper 2 is complete with the burger manual thing and the poster. It cost £30, which seemed too good to pass up. For comparison, CEX sell a "complete" (although they just specify it comes with the manual and don't mention if it is the poster AND manual) copy for £55. The only issue is a small slight stain on the bottom of the inlay on the front and the poster is unfortunately a bit tatty.

Resident Evil Outbreak is in lovely condition and I had been keeping an eye out for a copy, since I already own the second one.

I ain't remember never seein' that thing, but it seems it was released on the Sony ZN-2 platform, which Capcom used for a few of their 3D fighters around that time: https://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=797.

I always felt like when I was playing it on PS1 that it seemed like such a console game, I never really suspected it would have been a port from the arcades.

Hmm, I do think that's a mock-up. I'm pretty certain the cabinet layout is setup for only one player. Interesting to know what arcade platform it was released on, appreciate you sharing that link. I went through a good amount of my photos from the last few years and could not find pictures of the cabinet, so this is starting to bother me. Lol. I may need to make a trip down to that Barcade location just to see if they still have the cabinet and to take some pictures of it, as I can't find any pictures of the cabinet online either.

This week I picked up Rambo 3 for the Mega Drive and my first Japanese game for the OG Xbox, Double S.T.E.A.L: The Second Clash.

Rambo 3 was just a completely impulse 'I'll stick a low bid on an auction and probably won't win (oh I actually won)' purchase. It's complete and in fairly good, but not amazing condition (missing hang tab, slight scuffs to top of inlay), but otherwise fine. It came to less than £28 including postage, so not bad at all considering complete copies usually go for around £50 here. It was a game that has been on my want list for a while, but I wasn't in any particular rush to get. Glad I got it for a decent price. I guess the fact it was a brand new seller with zero feedback put some people off bidding, maybe.

Double S.T.E.A.L Second Clash is the Japanese only sequel to Wreckless. I don't remember how many people remember Wreckless, but it was a mission based driving game, similar to the Runabout and Midtown Madness games, that was notable back in the day for how much it pushed the Xbox hardware, with it featuring some of the best graphics of that generation. Despite this, it mostly received middling reviews.

Second Clash actually takes a lot of the good things about the original Wreckless and improves upon the formula greatly, fixing a lot of the flaws with the original game (such as the vehicle handling). What's weird though, is it was never released outside of Japan, but the entire game is all in English. I don't think there is a single bit of Japanese in there, not even subtitles. It's English audio, English subtitles and English menus. How weird.

I really looking forward to playing this one more.

Edit: I forgot to say, definitely watch DF Retro's video on Wreckless if you are interested. It also features a bit about Second Clash too.

Ordered a copy of Biomutant for Switch and it arrived today. Along with my used DMG Game Boy and the Ms. Pac-Man cart it came with.

Seriously hope it works so I can start ordering the stuff to mod it.

...way late with my July additions to the library, but I was definitely blessed to find quite a bit last month. Other than orders Guns of Mercy, Cat Quest, and those 4-top Xbox games, I found everything else while on vacation w/my family. Even though I missed SEGE this year, I think that I still did alright. With Wonder Boy III I finally got past the 1100-game mark in my collection and I'm still geeked that I was able to track down a XSX copy of Clair Obscur.

I add Slay The Spire for the Nintendo Switch this evening!

I accomplished one of my long term gaming goals by having more Completes than Beats, so I decided to reward myself with buying the game I most want off of my Wishlist. I bought Slay The Spire for the Nintendo Switch.

Besides video games, I love Board Games and one of the genres I love are Deck Building Games. Ironically, I played Slay The Spire: The Board Game earlier this year and that just made me want to play the video game. I know many people who are fans of both genre who love this game. In fact, I know a few Board Gamers who bought the game and enjoyed it even though they only marginally enjoy video games.
