I was in one of my funks when I posted it. Two jobs, no life outside of work and home and what may or may not be autistic burnout and the threat of a meltdown around the corner doesn't help.

I've been really stressed out about work lately, with the THC and vape bans being discussed in Texas. I work for Chinese manufacturers and it's been pretty scary, not gonna lie. Our biggest clients got raided for the products they legally sold & every other wholesale business on the street closed their doors for two days or so.

About done with school now too, and classes have been really kicking my ass. It's all group projects, in my online classes. It sucks. I don't even feel like I'm learning anything getting a business degree I don't get at work, but fuck it, it'll help me make more money I guess. I don't really need the help, but my parents are breathing down my neck about it so I've been gritting my teeth and getting through it. They're a whole other issue, they think I'm working shitty jobs but I'm retiring by 30 if I'm able to keep my savings rate like this... but I've also been kind of living like a monk and it sucks.

I miss complaining about middle school on here

I should be graduating in December though, and y'all are all welcome to come to the grad party haha. If you can't make it you can still mail your gift ;)

I want to go back
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

I have been in a rut with my doctor and therapist realizing that jobs during the time were literally killing me mentally, to the point of evolving my bipolar diagnosis from type 2 to type 1 (which includes a 6 week long psychotic episode where I almost was violent towards strangers). I have been unemployed for the past while as I already had an idea in mind: My passion lies with movies. Why not study it?

As of yesterday I have officially registered for my courses for Film Studies, and I'll most likely minor in Russian and Spanish as other languages are required anyways. It will be on a part-time basis, and for free, as I am considered permanently disabled by the province, and now by the school's system; however, I can use all my credits from my previous Math degree, so it shouldn't take too long.

I plan on going into Graduate Studies as well because I know that's the only way to get something out of this type of Major. My city has a lot of archives, museums, and smaller government-run festivals, so there's a decent chance of getting something after getting a Master's or PhD, especially when one of the profs that I'll meet with soon for advice is a boss of one of said archives.

I think that even if I don't get something out of this, it'll be a nice bucket list sort of thing. And, while I study, disability won't deduct any employment income, so if I ever reach the point where I can work again despite taking a few courses a year, then that's an option as well.

I'm sorry to hear that.

That's good to hear.

On my end, I still gotta talk with my manager about trying to get accommodations based on my autism. I'm hoping I can go back to the overnight stock crew since the crowds that seem to trigger my anxiety (and/or disrupt my routine by making something as simple as restocking the toiletries in the restrooms take longer than necessary) will have thinned out considerably by then, and hoping to be able to listen to my headphones while I'm working. Plus, I seem to be more active at night.

Working 10pm to 6am would also help with my other job, which is usually 7am to noon. I usually end up late because of how hard it is to find the energy to get ready in the morning.

My only roadblock is that I'm only afforded reasonable accommodations, and I don't know by whose definition of "reasonable" I'd be working with.

I find it relatively amusing when a package goes five or six hours north of me when it originated about three hours west.

I’ve had that happened before. I’ve had something originate in like NJ, go to some places like Georgia or Missouri, and come back to NYC. I’m guessing that was a routing error.
I own too many hoodies jackets hoodies and DS games and I’m not ashamed!
