...in effort to maintain my sanity, for well...a while, I've started making a real attempt to finish games this year and make a dent in my backlog. So I'm tackling two games at a time (generally one newer game and one classic one)...well sort of, I do get distracted from time to time . Anyways, anyone using a similar approach or method to work through their library?

Ironically, that is my exact system.

I will have one game that is new to me. A game I have never played before and I will play that game until I beat it.

My second game is a game that I have beaten before. This time, I will go back and replay the game along with collecting anything else that I missed before like side-quests. Basically, I am playing the game until I complete it.

And I have games waiting in the wings after those to prepare for what is coming. Also, I like to be certain that the game still works or that I have downloaded any necessary updates.

One caveat is like all of these games to be from different systems. Give it a little variety in the games that I play.

I tried for a bit to concentrate on one game at a time. It works great if it is game that you love. However, if the game has flaws and only okay, it is hard to get the gumption to play the game. So, having two games and also switching between these games to play them every other day also really helps in my progress.

So, I think that is a great idea. One modern and one classic sound like a perfect mixture as well! :D

I play only one game at a time.

If I let myself play multiple games at a time I tend to get stuck somewhere and trail off and never beat it because I've moved on to another game.

If I get tired of a game, I am still motivated to finish it because that way I can play something new.

I don't like games that abuse the culture of others all in the name of inclusivity. This stuff is getting out of hand, esp in games from European devs.

Three games at the same time:
- AAA (sometimes indie) in the living room
- Indie (sometimes AAA) on the Switch
- Retro on the R36S

I noticed after setting up an older Svideo switch I had that there was some mild checkboarding on my consoles, when I plugged them directly into the scaler I had no issue, so it was either switch or the cable from the switch to the TV. Svideo is just such a pain, but I ended up with this sweet cable that just gives me zero loss against plugging directly.

Writing mini-reviews for classic games and leaving behind low scores has had me worrying you all think I'm a grump. Okay, perhaps I am.

It's OK to love something and still be picky/opinionated.

I know I am...

Interesting list. I'm curious the reasoning for some, like why Soul Calibur 2, 4, and 6? 2 I understand, but I didn't keep up with the series and never played 4 and 6.
