Wore my first bow tie that had to be tied by hand to my eldest niece's middle school graduation.
Fashion Thread
Re: Fashion Thread
I think this is a good option for those who don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes.
Also, I spam because I have nothing better to do than sit on forums posting fake posts.

It's probably pretty obvious for most, but the above is an ad, possibly by a bot, that rewrote Note's original post of:
to slap in a link to some external website.
I was going to just report it and move on, but the report message button seems to be broken. Is that known behaviour for the forums right now, or is it some sort of issue with my config? EDIT: Looks like it is a known issue.
That Ghost in the Shell jacket is nice, Megas! One of my favorite movies, one of the few I would contemplate getting a t-shirt of. Also, nice setup and display with the shelves!

How boring is your life that you regularly sit on the forum?

I own too many hoodies jackets hoodies and DS games and I’m not ashamed!
Re: Fashion Thread
More related to clothes themselves than fashion, but is there a reason why my t-shirts almost always end up with holes forming around the underarm seam? A lot of my shirts are ringspun cotton (my Fright Rags shirts, to be specific), with a few others just being regular cotton.
Re: Fashion Thread
If that’s the case, it’s because you may not be adhering to the wash tag.
Always wash with cold water.
Tumble dry on the lowest setting but if feasible, hang dry.
Certain items require you to lay flat to dry. Amazon has things to help with that.
For those that require handwashing, do it. It won’t survive the washing machine, even on delicate cycle.
Detergent matters. Woolite is a good one to use for delicate items. Use the one made for dark items. It helps a lot in the long run.
If the wash tag says to dry clean, do it. Don’t wash it yourself. You’re gonna ruin it.
Of you’re doing all of this and your clothing is still turning into shit, buy better clothing. Not trying to be a dick but sometimes a few extra bucks can get you to the next price bracket and that piece will last you significantly longer.
Edit: also material can play a big part. Polyester has its part, but try to get natural materials like cotton, linen, and wool. Rayon is sort of a hybrid product. That is okay. Nylon should be used for specific cases. Polyester is weaved with cotton to cut costs. Sometimes it works but in most cases, it turns to shit after several washes.
And avoid acrylic as best you can. It’s bottom of the barrel material. Barely breaths. Real cheap.

I'm annoyed my older post was quoted and turned into spam. Lol. Thanks for pointing it out the moderators, pierrot. I checked the report button after you mentioned it, and it also didn't work for me.
Re: Fashion Thread
Whenever I do my own laundry, it's at a nearby motel (the owner lets me use their machines) where the machines only work with cold water. As for detergent, I usually just go with something from the Dollar Tree, though with them closing last year, I'll have to find something else.Gucci wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 8:52 pm If that’s the case, it’s because you may not be adhering to the wash tag.

And as for following the instructions on the tag, I don't really have the luxury. I'd imagine having to separate everything based on how I'd need to wash and dry it, and if I did I'd end up doing multiple smaller loads which would eat up a lot of my time and money. The money part especially in my case since I use coin-op machines that cost $1.75 per load for the washer and about the same for the dryer.
Further proof that I really need my own washer and dryer. My place has hookups for it, but the space I have would only fit one of those vertical washer/dryer combos. And right now, I'm about a month behind on my rent, so buying the machine myself is out of the question. And I don't want to ask my landlord for stuff if I owe him money.
Yeah, that seems crazy, especially since the poster's only two posts so far are that and a post giving pierrot grief about calling them out.

What I've gleaned from this thread- I'm so fly that people are going out of their way to copy me.
