Games Acquired 2025
Re: Games Acquired 2025
Got the Steam key for Bushinden recently. I backed it on Kickstarter and so far it's just a demo.
Re: Games Acquired 2025
Nice pick up! I remember buying the first two games on PS2 when I was young and really enjoying them. Have you played the latest one that came out a couple of years ago? The World Before? It's really good! There was a third one too, which I have, but I must admit I didn't get very far in that one.
I picked up some more 360 games. Asura's Wrath, Bully and Oblivion (GOTY edition with all the DLC).
January 2025:
Two Point Museum (PS5)
Need For Speed (Saturn)
Total Overdose (Xbox)
Godzilla: Save the Earth (Xbox)
Asura's Wrath (Xbox 360)
Bully (Xbox 360)
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (Xbox 360)

Re: Games Acquired 2025
I have only played the first one. I haven't delved further into the series, so I am excited to try the next step in the series.Reprise wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 6:16 pmNice pick up! I see that the third one got some pretty bad reviews.
And then the 4th one was released rather recently. Unfortunately, the main guy behind the franchise passed away in 2021 during the fourth's development, so I don't know what will happen to the series.
Admittedly, I really liked the setting in the first one, so I will be curious to see what happens in the second one. I really loved that old toy factory/automaton setting and how it fits in a modern world. But, since I liked the first one so much, I thought I might as well give the second one a try.

Re: Games Acquired 2025
February update:
February:
The Misadventures of Tron Bonne PS1
Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir Switch eShop
Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind Switch eShop
Total: 3 games
3 games this month.
The first one is a big one - Tron Bonne is an expensive game for PS1. I bought my copy from Cex which is a second hand games and dvd chain here in the UK. Once upon a time I would have said their prices were expensive, but for some reason nowadays they tend to be cheaper than both independent game shops and ebay. I got my copy without the manual, which made it about £100 cheaper. I like having manuals, but I don't £100 like having a manual
The Famicom Detective Club remakes have been on my list to pick up since they came out, but I always thought they were too expensive for what they were - £50 for the 2 of them and digital only is a bit rich for my blood. Unfortunately, I've been waiting on a sale for them since forever (or even better, a physical release), but Dekudeals shows that they've never been discounted once inthe 4-5 years since they came out so I finally gave up. A friend got me some eshop credit for my birthday, and due to the impending end of the gold points rewards on switch I cashed in the points from all of my games too, and that got me most of the way to the cost of these.

Oh another CeX Rouletter! Yeah, CeX can be cheaper. The reason why a lot of independents and eBay are more expensive is because most of them use CeX as a guide (thanks to CeX's monopoly on the highstreet and their transparency in pricing), but then argue they should charge more because they offer a "superior" service, whether it's providing photos of actual items on their websites, having better grading systems, cleaning/refurbishing items (replacing dead batteries in old carts) and having better expertise in order to spot fakes etc.
Some games can be cheaper ein other places, including even eBay, though, but it really just depends and sometimes it's just pure luck.
It's swings and roundabouts really and at least with CeX you can bring the prices down by trading in for credit (or there is even a market online for buying vouchers, usually for around 80%). You can actually abuse their trade in system and profit if you are savvy. Look out for sales or deals on Switch and other modern games and sometimes you will find games being sold brand new for less than CeX give in voucher price. Then you can buy and trade for profit. It's a bit scalpery, but a lot of people do it.
Tron Bonne is a great pick up. It's really risen in price the last few years and is rarely in stock at CeX. Well done for picking that up before someone else did. People don't hang about when rare games come in stock at CeX

Oh, I am in the same boat there! I hadn't realised they never go on sale. Explains why I am still waiting

I'm late but wanted to share my February pick-ups! I just scored one game, but it was a huge grail for me, and one of my most wanted games. I was trying to find it last year, especially while at LI Retro Expo, but didn't have any luck. With my birthday in late January, I figured I'd resume the search and I managed to come across a copy that included the manual and overall was in good shape.
I also picked up a few manuals to complete some PS1 and Genesis games I've had for quite a long time. I had a lot of trouble finding the Wild Arms 2 manual in the past, so I'm glad I finally came across one for a reasonable price.

Re: Games Acquired 2025

...February was pretty light pickup wise, but checking out a new local shop I came across a copy of The Plucky Squire. I've wanted to check game out since the trailer debuted a while back, but I had no idea is was receiving a physical release. I've been on Ace Attorney kick lately, so Investigations sort of rounds that out and now I only need the Apollo Justice trilogy and the Ace Attorney/Professor Layton crossover. I also came across a clean copy of Columns III so I grabbed that as well, I remembered someone else finding this a while back and enjoying it.
