So what have you guys been watching lately?

I recently started watching the Men In Black cartoon on YouTube a bit, and it's awesome. It's fairly adult for a kids show, reminds me a lot of Batman Beyond.

YouTube has a ton of good shows on there now. MST3K is on there in its entirety officially and I use it to fall asleep to often. Theres even uploads of old adult swim recordings with the ads that somehow don't get taken down. Not sure what's going on with the content moderation at YouTube but I'm enjoying it while it lasts haha.

The Men in Black cartoon DEFINITELY had a vastly different vibe from the movie. The movie had a vibe somewhere between Muppets-level goofy and dark humored satire of conspiracy theories and tabloid fodder, while the cartoon felt more like it ditched the goofiness.

Some time ago, I decided to give The Great North another shot after failing to click with the first episode on first watch. I'm glad I did since it's actually a pretty cool animated sitcom, set against the Alaskan wilderness and following a single dad, his three sons, teenage daughter and his adult son's fiancée-turned-wife from Fresno. It's from the same folks as Bob's Burgers and it has a similar vibe, though while Bob's Burgers is a mashup of family and workplace sitcom, The Great North is a more like a cozy family sitcom with a small-town slice of life take on a location seldom seen on television. And yes, I know there are a lot of series set in Alaska, but not many are in the sitcom realm, animated or live-action.

Though set in Alaska, they actually draw pictures of Canada as their backgrounds to take advantage of their tax incentive program.

Plus, they have Alanis Morisette as a fictional version of herself as Judy's imaginary friend who appears in the Northern Lights.

Even with the music replaced due to rights issues, I've been watching Homicide: Life on the Streets on Peacock. I've been enjoying it because of the constant banter between the different detectives, the strange edits where they'll show three rapid, different takes of the same line, and the constant smoking and coffee drinking and stress and bad diets and alcoholism they all have as they try to solve murder cases through drudgery and while dealing with continuous bureaucratic crap like maintenance problems in their building. And also it helps that the actors are all fantastic at their roles, particularly Andre Braugher, though Yaphet Kotto seems to steal every scene he is in.

Yaphet Kotto steals every scene in everything he's ever been in. The man just had PRESENCE.

I watched the last five episodes of Cobra Kai season 6. It was absolute garbage. I need to change my avatar. What a trainwreck this show ended up being.

I'm currently at the tail end of yet another Solar Opposites rewatch. I'll probably start another one when I'm finished and another after that until the sixth season starts.

Currently on Season 2 in King of Queens on Peacock (although I should be further along). Power Rangers lost Galaxy on YouTube, Drew Carey Show on Plex, and Spider-Man (the 1994 series).
