What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Since I was off last night and Deadpool & Wolverine hit Disney+, I decided to toss it on to end the night.

I very much enjoyed it and I'm kinda salty AF that I didn't get to see this in theaters. I almost did, but my brother's car crapped out.

I've had this on my watch list for a while, after watching a video Matt Baume made on the subject.

Definitely a must-watch, especially nowadays.

At best, it's worth a rental while serving up a fanfictionalized version of the excellent video game franchise. At worst, it's overly expensive dreck.

Whoever decided to saddle this with a PG-13 rating should be beaten with an oar. But then again, this IS the same Lionsgate that fucked over REPO! The Genetic Opera while giving wide theatrical releases to crap like Disaster Movie.

I finally got to see Alien Romulus. Pretty good. I'd rank it below Aliens but still a solid film.

I freakin' hated Prometheus. So I'm glad they're making good Alien films again.

Managed to watch Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

I saw several people say that it greatly exceeded their expectations.

I thus adjusted my expectations accordingly. They were not exceeded, but I did really enjoy the movie. It was very funny and fun to watch.

Having the right expectations definitely improves the D&D movie greatly.

Agreed. Low expectations are typically key to enjoying a great many films.

A few nights ago, I threw on the extended cut of "A Muppets' Christmas Carol", which is available on Disney+, more specifically under the film's "Extras" tab. This cut puts back the musical number that was cut from the film due to pacing.

And two nights ago, while wrapping presents, I put on "A Christmas Story". I bought the 4K release last year but never got around to watching it.

Back on Christmas Eve, I watched "A Christmas Karen", a low-budget retelling of Charles Dickens' classic that swaps out a stingy money lender in Victorian England to a self-entitled white woman in modern-day Florida unironically named Karen.

At best, it had the odd moment here and there, but I mostly just put it on to have some seasonal background noise. I've seen better modern Christmas Carol reimaginings.
