Thanks! I have wanted Musha for a hell of a long time. It was one of my grails as well, particularly as I have got more into shmups the last few years. I had a great time playing it last week. The Japanese version is actually quite a bit cheaper. I paid £185, whilst a US copy it seemed would set me back maybe around £500-700ish. Obviously it's still not cheap, but it might be worth looking into if you want a copy.Syndicate wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 8:56 pm ...whoa, a copy of MUSHA is seriously nice stuff. It's definitely my number one grail on the Genesis, I've come across a few copies over the last year or two, but for the sake of my marriage I have not pulled the trigger . I haven't considered a Japanese version, I just figured it was similarly expensive. Enjoy the game though, I think it's one of the best 4th gen shmups.

Re: Games Acquired 2024
I picked up the new Silent Hill 2 Remake and Final Fantasy I-VI Collection today. It's also Amazon 'Prime' Day (at least here in the UK) and I saw Sea of Stars was on sale, so I bought that and it should be arriving tomorrow.

I added Snowboard Kids for the Nintendo 64 this evening!
The N64 is one of the consoles where my Wishlist is beginning to get a little small. So, I was happy to discover Snowboard Kids from a YouTube video I had seen about the game. The music sounded great and it looked like a fun game. I played 1080 Snowboarding back in the day, but I never really had any interest in picking it up as I had problems with the controls. Hopefully, that is not the same and that this is an enjoyable title. I'm just happy that it is another game crossed off on my dwindling N64 Wishlist.

I picked up U.N. Squadron for the SNES. Just a loose cart, but I am pleased to have it in my collection and looking forward to trying it.

Re: Games Acquired 2024
Nice pick-ups on U.N. Squadron and the Silent Scope Collection, Reprise. I was able to finish U.N. Squadron a few years ago and really enjoyed it, but found it to be pretty tough.
My buddy who I visited for a weekend in early September scooped that Silent Scope Collection and we spent a bit of time playing it. The third game's especially fun, IMO. The Xbox ports of the Silent Scope games are also light gun compatible, but my buddy just recently got the light gun, so I haven't checked it out yet. It's too bad the releases on the Dreamcast weren't light gun compatible.

Re: Games Acquired 2024
Thanks, Note. I played a bit of Silent Scope yesterday and they seem like great ports. I never played the third game and I have only played the second game in the arcade before. I think it's really interesting that the ports are light gun compatible, because I specifically remember when the first game was released on Dreamcast that the developers had said that they had tried to make the game work with the light gun, but they ultimately decided to leave it out as they couldn't get it to feel right, since obviously the arcade original used a sniper rifle and scope. It would be interesting to see how well it works on Xbox.

Re: Games Acquired 2024
I picked up Crimewave for Saturn. I didn't really know much about the game, but a couple of months ago I was watching a youtube video and someone mentioned the game. I thought it looked kinda fun, so I was keeping an eye on eBay for an auction or something to show up. A few days ago someone listed a nice copy, so I bidded on it and won.

I added Scribblenauts Unlimited for the Nintendo WiiU this morning!
One of the games that always interested me was Scribblenauts. The idea that you can make anything and it would just appear was always fascinating. Unfortunately, the game was only on handheld systems until it was released on the Nintendo WiiU. So, when I was creating my WiiU Wishlist, I could finally add it. At a local game store doing some trade in, I found it for the price I was looking for. Looking for something simple and a bit easy but a whole lot of fun, I thought it would be a nice addition!
