I got Aerowings 2 when it was new, and played a fair amount of it back in high school. It's more of a flight-sim's flight-sim. It's a lot more like learning to actually pilot a real fighter jet than the frantic dog-fights of an Airforce Delta, or something. (There are actually dog-fights in Aerowings 2, though.)

If learning how to successfully perform an Immelmann turn from a first-person perspective excites you, then Aerowings 2 is the game for you.
Yeah, thanks. Sounds cool. I hear one of the sequels, Aero Dancing i (which only came out in Japan) is the best one, so I might pick that one up if I like the second game.

Hell yeah man!
Are they good? They've been on my want list for like 24 years, give or take a year  I hear the Dreamcast version of Gauntlet Legends is the best version and closest to the arcade version.
Absolutely correct on all counts. Gauntlet Dark Legacy on PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, and GBA is essentially an expanded version of Legends (well, GBA is sort of its own thing lol), and that's best played on Xbox (there are a few exclusive Gamecube features, but the Gamecube version also has a bug where your characters lose xp as new characters you create gain xp, so it's kind of bleh).

Ah yeah, I thought I had read that about Dark Legacy. I used to play it back in high school with some of my friends. I half wondered if I should have picked it up instead, but I'll probably get it at some time though, so will look out for the Xbox version. Thanks for letting me know about the Gamecube bug.

I was out of town all last week, and I hit some pawn shops and video game stores while I was away from home. I mostly picked up PS4 games because: (1) I just got a PS4; and (2) they’re cheap and readily available. I did manage to pick up a few older games I didn’t already own, however. Here was my haul:

Motocross Championship (32X)
Paperboy (Genesis, CIB)
Summer Challenge (Genesis; CIB)
Space Football (SNES)

Death Stranding (PS4; CIB)
Dragon Quest Heroes (PS4; CIB)
Fire Pro Wrestling World (PS4; CIB)
Killzone: Shadowfall (PS4; CIB)
Last of Us Part II (PS4; CIB)
Marvel’s Spider Man (PS4; CIB)
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4; CIB)
Tempest 4000 (PS4; CIB)
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (PS4; CIB)
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (PS4; CIB)
Uncharted: Lost Legacy (PS4; CIB)
Until Dawn (PS4; CIB)

Mazes of Fate (NDS; CIB) and Lunar Lander Beyond (Switch; CIB) were also waiting for me when I got home. Overall, a pretty great trip! (The video game weren’t even the best part!)

I've slowed down considerably these last few years. This is what I've grabbed since May:

Awesome. Mr. Run ‘n Jump! I grabbed that too.

Kinda shocked you didn’t already have Star Fox, though. What are the Switch games?

Yeah there are some really common games I just never picked up over the years, and probably played via emulation along the way.

The Switch games are the Muv-Luv / Muv-Luv Alternative Remastered Double Pack and Seven Days: Anata to Sugosu Nanokakan. Both visual novels I snagged from Play Asia, which is something I usually don't do. Elkin is a good/bad influence.

Oh yeah I also ordered Lunar Lander Beyond though it isn't here yet. Atari forever!

Oof, this just reminded me that I missed the Muv Luv bundle on Humble--.

Yo~! Sakura Taisen 3 (and to a lesser extent, 4) are primo. I don't love Princess Crown, but it's pretty cool too. Has to be getting pretty up there in price these days. (--Oh, maybe not quite as bad as I was thinking.)

I've regrettably passed on Nonomura too many times. Some day maybe I'll actually nab it with the Eve games, Desire, Noel 3 etc. I've seen it come up in conversation on Japanese sites more than once.

I paid $50 for Princess Crown, which I think is pretty good!!

Didn't realize NOel 3 was on Saturn. Have you played the first couple? I've had the first for years on PSX, never fired it up.

And EVE: Burst Error kick ass. At least on PC; sure it's good on Saturn too. Was actually looking into grabbing the English PC version of Desire, but the prices are nasty.

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I can't remember exactly what I payed for Princess Crown, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a whole lot less, and that was 12 years ago. It's still exclusive to the Saturn and PSP, isn't it?

I-- I actually didn't realize that Noel was a series until you just mentioned it. I had always assumed the "3" had something to do with the three girls on the cover, or something.

That's kind of crazy to me that Desire was released in English on PC. (And it does appear to be pricey. Wow.)
