I saw the Long Island one too. I’m interested in going in August. Not sure who else from the NYC area is willing to go. It’s about a 90 minute drive for me. I’ll probably take the drive with my brother and my nephew (his son) since he’s starting to appreciate older consoles (his first console was a Switch).

It’s August though. As some New Yorkers would say: “it’s gonna be hot as shit outside, B!”

Dress lightly

That's awesome that you're planning on going too, Gucci. I think it's a 40 minute drive or about an hour and a half on public transportation for me. Hope your nephew continues to get into old school games. Lol.

Let's stay in touch about meeting up over there. I also invited my girlfriend and a close longtime friend, but not certain either will be able to swing it just yet.

Looks like a heatwave is about to come our way. Hope you put your hoodies away and have the tees and shorts ready!

lol I’ve been having tees and shorts. I hate the heat! First moment it’s in the 60s, I start making the switch. I started putting up the AC window boxes yesterday.

...cool, I may have take you up on that, I'll be there Saturday (it's about a 7.5-hr drive). I'll have my entire fam in tow, so we'll see how that works out

If anyone is planning to go to that, let me know. Would be great to meet up with other RB members there.

I've heard good things about SEGE, I'd like to check it out at some point, but early July is usually tough for me due to family things. Hopefully I'll make it down there eventually! Overall, I'd like to make an effort to check out these types of shows and meet some like minded gamers.
...I had some LI Retro Gaming Expo info come across my feeds and I've heard it's a great time. I'd like to make it, but I may have to add it to my list for next year...and yeah, if we could find a con that was say central to all of us it would be very cool to have RB meetup.

Wow, that's certainly got me beat for distance! I admire the dedication by you and your family. Hope to see you there!

Yeah, let's definitely keep each other posted on conventions, just in case there's something that might work for a meetup.

Is there anything held in the DC area on an annual basis? My family moved down there earlier this year, so that might be an option for me moving forward too.

...Super MAGFest is the big annual con for the DMV area. It's a great time, especially if you check out the arcade, console, and museum areas. Vendors can sometimes be hot or miss if you're really looking for games imo, some years are better than others. It's a great show, especially if you like game music (MAGFest orchestra this year was awesome) or gaming related music acts and parties. There are even rooms for tabletop and PC LAN if you're into that as well. It takes place during the winter, so there's no chance of getting caught in any heat

If you are proximal to Cleveland, OH there’s a smaller gaming show called CCAG at the end of July.

I finally got a monitor stand that can rotate. Now I'm enjoying vertical shooters and virtual pinball with a larger play field. Why didn't I do this years ago??

I used to rock a monitor stand in the office when I used two monitors. I had one vertical as I felt with a lot of web pages and docs that benefited from that layout.

The issue was that the monitors were TN displays so while the viewing angle was fine, it wasn’t the best vertically.

May I ask what display tech you have? IPS?
