Backloggery launched their new site!

Post by Ziggy »

I just noticed that Backloggery launched their new site. Has anyone else seen this yet?

I was just checking it out this morning. Overall, I think the new version of the site looks good. For long time users, how do you feel about the relaunch? Are there any features that are missing from the original site?

I actually don't have an account on there, but have been contemplating creating one.

If you click on the menu in top-left corner, you can click on road map which will list planned features and whatnot. I haven't really read through it yet though.

It is different. There are things I like about the remake and there are things that I don't like about the remake.

Unfortunately, the code for the previous site was kind of broken and was not beginning to work properly. The only way for the site owner to do any sort of updates would be to overhaul the entire site. So, many things are missing, but most of them are planned to come back.

It is much easier to keep track of digital games, compilations and DLC. The social/multi-tap function needs work and there are still some bugs to work out.

If you haven't tried it out and was always curious, now would be a good time to start an account!

Yeah, I checked it out. It looks like the Multitap section was wiped, unfortunately. That said, it works much better on my phone than it used to. I still haven't checked it out on my desktop.

Yep, I use the backloggery a lot so I've been keeping track of the new site update. I'm with Markies in that there's things I preferred about the old site but there's lots of quality of life updates with the new one that I like as well. I think a lot of things where I preferred the old site might be down to familiarity, or else are on the roadmap for the new site updates too. I work as a product manager for a website in my day job so I know how hard it is to make everyone happy with site updates, and I think Drumble (the backloggery owner/dev) has done a pretty good job.

I absolutely adore the new site. I've been praying and begging for a "Shelved" status for years, so that alone makes me ecstatic.

I ended up making an account on the new site. It's going to take me some time to build out my profile, but in the meantime I followed the RB members I came across.
