Not sure what's going on with Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Dave Meltzer, but lately they have been pumping out negative story after negative story about AEW. It's interesting, because people always used to claim that they're on Tony's payroll and biased, because they gave AEW more 5 star matches in the space of mere months than they gave WWE in years.

Anyways, what's kind of funny is Fightful have actually disputed quite a few of their AEW stories lately and they just disputed another one. Earlier Wrestling Observer claimed that part AEW's deal with CMLL stipulated that AEW can put no other Mexican wrestlers on the same shows as when CMLL talent are appearing, and that this has caused major heat for Tony, with many talent being pissed off about, particularly the Lucha Brothers. Fightful have come out and said this story is "outright false". They also say that it's true Penta was booked to appear this week and didn't, but that it was down to travel issues and had nothing to do with CMLL.

Edit: Actually, multiple reports this week are allegedly false according to Fightful and other sources.

It's chaos right now

You know I'm not surprised, a lot of our news and media in general have lost credibility these past ten years so stuff like this doesn't surprise me. In a world of fake news, artificial intelligence, false accusations, and deep fakes, truth is getting harder and harder to separate from fiction. I'm not gonna focus on depressing stuff like that though. I'm just gonna keep playing video games and have fun

I could really have some fun with that running for president line, especially considering some of Meltzer's crazy political takes, but I know we don't allow that kind of talk here

I never knew some of Meltzer's political opinions were public. Will have to Google that... Yeah, unfortunately anything that can even mildly be interpreted as possibly political is off limits. I understand the reasons for it though.

Meltzer used to put his political takes on Twitter from what I recall. Personally, i wouldn't bother looking them up. He's very opiniated, aggressive, and obnoxious when it comes to his politics, but I guess that's true of most people in the entertainment world these days. Meltzer is a guy who thinks he knows everything and thinks that if you disagree with him, you're an idiot. He's not shy about telling people that either...he's kind of like Cornette actually.

Anyway, shifting away from the danger zone that is politics because marurun gets nervous LOL, I have to say that Rock was damn entertaining last night. Heel Rock is the best Rock and if WWE isn't careful he is quite capable of turning people against Cody. He went full heel on the city he was in, and still had some people playing along with his "If you smeeeeeeell", routine and some of them were chanting his name too. You can find the clip of his promo on youtube. I wouldn't recommend anyone watching a full WWE show nowadays. God, the old timers know how to cut a promo. He even pointed out how Cody doesn't have a story and the fact that Cody already lost to Roman once already. Honestly, he kind of buried Cody.

I think it's kind of funny how they are playing up this story line of whether or not Dakota Kai will turn on Bayley because of this:

Anyways, I watched Double or Nothing 2019 last night. It's amazing how much the company has changed and transformed since then and, in many ways, not for the better. In some ways, they have got better though. DoN 2019 did feel very 'indie'.
