Is "crybabies" supposed to be insulting? WWE and The Rock are so cringe now.

With the big PPV match coming up with Swerve getting the chance to be champ, it's a good time to revisit this classic:

and a cool highlights video:

Some videos of Swerve talking about LU and a funny bit about Jon Moxley

AEW is currently putting out a better product than WWE. Unless you have fifty posters of Cody Rhodes in your bedroom, nothing WWE is doing in terms of booking or creative is particularly exciting right now and the match quality is leaps and bounds higher in AEW. Things could really boom for AEW once Okada and Mercedes debut. AEW could maybe generate some buzz like they did when Punk and Bryan showed up, even if those two are arguably not as big of a deal as Punk and Bryan were. Speaking of Punk, he sure came out of his little personal feud with Hangman and The Elite (and I guess Jack Perry too) looking like a loser.

Anyway, I cringed a bit at Darby getting a few people in the crowd to do a Cody chant on Dynamite tonight (seriously, fuck you Darby), but it was an otherwise fun show and I think Darby/Sting vs the Extremely Violent People will be a great match. The build for Swerve, Hangman, and Joe has been great, but can they keep that momentum going up until the pay per view? Hangman got a few boos, but I still see nothing in what he's saying or doing that is heelish, but wrestling fans have short memories.

Me:

"Remember when Swerve broke into Hangman's home and went into his kid's room?"

AEW fans:

Me:

"Nevermind"

Noooo Darby, why did you have to turn heel?

Did Ospreay debut or did they just announce his Revolution match?

Meltzer tore AEW a new one for that segment and he kinda has a point.

So the Bucks are basically self-parodying with their new gimmick with them playing the exaggerated versions of themselves that is presented online by the likes of Corny and other influencers and onlinr WWE fans who shit on the Bucks and AEW. But then you have Darby Allin come out in a segment, being the face, where he is essentially using the usual insults and criticisms used by those aforementioned individuals who shit all over AEW and going so far that he helps put over Cody and get his name chanted, when that guy is over in the WWE.

Why would you do that?

So AEW is using Darby as a means to get across the very insults used by people who shit on their product? And he's putting over WWE's biggest babyface? It makes no sense.

I don't know why AEW always does that. Someone even mentioned CM Punk on TV after he was fired (can't remember who it was. It might have been MJF?). And I remember the Acclaimed bringing up Buddy "being cucked by a guy called Dominik". It was pretty funny, but why are you reminding your audience about what's happening and who the big names are over in a different, much larger company?

Yeah, I didn't like that segment. As I mentioned the Cody chants were really weird and off putting and Darby pretty much set up the crowd to do them, which pissed me off. Do we really need BOTH promotions propping up Cody like he's God's gift to pro wrestling? Fuck off Darby. You're gonna quickly drop down the card and be forgotten when Sting finally retires. I see Daniel Garcia eventually taking Darby's spot among the four pillars. Darby got over because of Sting and has been leeching off of him ever since.

Booo I love Darby!

But I love Garcia too. I hope they give that guy a main event push and a world title match soon.

I was venting a little. Darby is fun to watch in the ring, his outside dives and bump taking are insane. Sometimes his character and promos put me off though. I never liked those silly, artsy, fartsy, videos of his they used to show. And much like with Julia Hart and Sky Blue right now, I find his whole edgelord, "I'm so dark, tormented, and mysterious" thing kind of silly. Darby feels like he's marketed to teenage girls who loved the Twilight movies. And as last night proved, his promos can be hit or miss. I guess maybe that's on Tony Kahn though? Was he told to say those things?

Darby's gonna have to really find himself when Sting is gone though.

You know what's really weird? Brandon Cutler is on Twitter (or X whatever) basically acting like a dirt sheet reporter. He's posting stories with "Sources are saying" like he's Dave Meltzer or Sean Ross Sapp.

I don't know why they are doing this. Maybe it's just meant to by funny, which is totally in line with a lot of the stuff the Bucks do

See, this is another thing though that I don't get the point of. Those wrestling news pages sites and websites are actually reporting on those posts, sometimes in a clickbaity manner where they realise it's storyline based but present it as if it's real reports to get people to click, but other times as if they believe it is real dirt sheet news.

On the one hand, it does highlight how dumb some of the arguments of AEW's critics are. But on the other hand, it also just plays into AEW's critics' hands.

To be honest, I don't really know where they are going with all this stuff. Then again, I guess I don't care all that much, it's all pretty entertaining and Bucks vs Sting and Darby should be great! I am looking forward to Sting retirement. He was one of my first favourite wrestlers, someone who has been a constant figure from the moment I first started watching. I hated his WWE run (if you can really call three matches or how ever many it was a "run") and thought it sucked that his career seemingly ended there the way it did. I never imagined I would ever see him in a ring again and I am grateful for AEW for giving me the opportunity to see him have a fantastic final run.

His promos sometimes make me cringe and he's not particularly great on the mic. His video game-esque rag doll physics are insane though and I think he's really interesting in the ring. I nearly always enjoy his matches. His match against MJF at one of the PPVs (can't remember which one, but think it was in 2022?) is one of my favourite AEW matches.

I don't mind the whole emo thing personally.

I did see some people online speculating that he went off script, but there doesn't seem to be any substance to those claims. Whoever approved that promo wasn't very smart if it was agreed in advance. But oh well.
