Ridge Racer Type 4 Music

Post by Kyle »

I'm a big fan of the Ridge Racer series, especially Type 4 and I really love the Music in this game. Does anyone know music that sounds like that?

Theres a link to download the PSP Ridge Racer soundtrack. I was always my personal favorite from the RR games.

I don't really know as I'm not too much of a music person, but the most common usage of those genres nowadays is by DJ's. DJ Food is one of the best examples of this.

A great label to also check out is Ninja Tune. These are the guys who provide TOONAMI and Adult Swim with their bump, promo, and intro music.

Anyhow, here are some examples:

Funk:

Acid Jazz:

Drum and Bass:

Google is your friend.

^ this last link should enable you to track down songs by the original artists for the entire soundtrack.
I think this all falls under "acid jazz" and also a bit of "electro" so a google for those - possibly with "ridge racer type 4" should find you plenty

Love R4's music.

Wish someone would do a proper PSF format dump of it.

A PSF rip would not be possible as it's not a sequenced or tracked format of music (at least the final product found on the game cd isn't). It's stored in XA compressed stream format (kinda like mp3 but not as sophisticated). I wouldn't recommend ripping the XA audio as it's much worse quality than the soundtrack CD.
