This version seems to have the updates on the cart, unlike the North American version
Octopath Traveler II - Switch
I also got a copy of Paper Mario: The Origami King from Amazon, but I'm returning it. I ordered the North American version and they sent me the European version. There's no real difference between the two but I always collect North American unless there is a good reason to get another regional version of a game (like the Euro version of the FF VII/VIII Twin Pack mentioned above). I just like uniformity in my collection.
I'm trying to get all of the Final Fantasy games on the Switch, since I loved playing all of them up to FF XV, where I feel is where the franchise fell off a cliff. Even the XIII trilogy of games was better than FF XV. So I have an order for Final Fantasy XII from ebay that I'm waiting to receive in the mail. I want to get the Pixel Remaster collection, but it's a bit pricey everywhere I have looked so I might have to wait on that one. I may pick up Final Fantasy 9 next instead. It's sort of funny to have FF 7-12 on cartridges. Who would have dreamed of that years ago? It takes me back to when all of the FF games would come out on the SNES before migrating over to a Sony platform.
I was pretty impressed at the fact that developers got Hogwart's Legacy to run decently on the Switch, less impressed when I found out only part of the game is on the cartridge. Guess I won't be buying that one, might as well just get the digital version on the PS 5 if I feel a really strong need to play it. I've never been into Harry Potter though so I can probably skip it.
Anyone play the physical version of River City Girls 2 on the Switch? I know the cart is missing a few updates/patches, but does it still play well? I heard a number of complaints when the game came out on the Switch regarding performance issues. I don't really care if it's like locked at 30fps, I'm not one who obsesses over 60fps gameplay. I don't mind if that's the game's only issue.
First, I don’t think that FFVII/FFVIII received a NA release. I plan to import it at some point, and I’m torn between the PAL version and the Asian version. The PAL version’s a bit less expensive, but the spine text is centered. The Asian version’s in English and has the spine text aligned to the top, like NTSC releases. Decisions! Decisions! (Also, you should import the Asian version of Final Fantasty Pixel Remaster. It is much less expensive than the NTSC version.)
Also, for River City Girls, I imported the River City Girls 1-2 Collection. It is less expensive than either NTSC release and has both games on one cartridge.
