Anybody else getting constantly harassed by youtube lately with constant, obnoxious, pop up windows telling you to turn off your adblocker?

YouTube announced some months ago they were going to start going after ad-blocking.

Part of the reason I sprung for YouTube Premium was to watch videos, or in some cases listen to them, without a random ad popping up. Nothing fucks up the mood when you're trying to listen to creepypasta narrations and suddenly an ad comes in and kills the vibe. Especially since YouTube's idea of an "ad" is vague enough to where ads can include anything from 2hr sermons to free episodes of TV shows uploaded officially to even PragerU videos.

If you don't want to deal with bs ads interrupting long videos just download them with something like yt-dlp.

That's true. There's probably some other alternatives I can look into as well.

No, but I don't use an ad blocker.

I do, but only on my PC. I know Opera GX is also on Android but Chrome can group tabs together. But sadly many sites refuse to work unless I whitelist it. And soon ad blockers will be useless since every site will demand being whitelisted.

its war then...

I believe in sites monetizing their content after all you cant have a free service but the problem is they over do it and even worse they track you and invade your privacy. They do not play nice so I don't either. Adblockers cut the bloat out of the apps and sites. I am a premium subscriber to pay my fair share for youtube but I do not use it logged in.

I rather watch a small banner ad than pay $3/month for every site and service I use.

I use ADGuard. Good deals often on keysoff for a lifetime membership for one or three devices. It says you can watch Youtube without ads by clicking the share button and choosing ADGuard. I buy YT Premium so I don't know if the Youtube share thing works, but I don't see ads on free Android apps or any websites that don't serve their own. It works well.
