It seems like you're having a lot of motivation to do well in this job. Just wanna say congrats on climbing up the ladder so quickly.SamuraiMegas wrote:Back from my first work expo (night 1). Got away too high (it's a smoke expo) and had to keep working through it. Grumpy and tired and a little drunk. My boss went around introducing me as the new Texas Marketing Manager which was news to me... youngest in the company and I'm in charge of a whole state now. i was already unofficially in chargebut I'm apparently moving up fr now.

No one would have anything to say if you didn't do so much bizarre shit then blogpost about it immediately. You literally insinuated that showing them that movie was weird and could be construed as creepy. The forums have gotten onto you several times in the past for trying to give explicit media to children that are too young, like all those M rated games you were talking about around Christmas time. You act inappropriately on a regular basis from what it sounds like and have no sense of what people are actually thinking. I apologize for the specific remark I made last page but that doesn't mean I think you aren't creepy.
Thank you PH. I'm honestly really enjoying the smoke con scene, after growing up going to nerdy cons literally all my life. Same happy, friendly give you get at comic/gaming cons and lots of freebies. Only difference is the disheveled white guy with greasy long hair is buying goods for his smoke shop instead of mtg cards

No, we typically purchase booth space but this time around we ended up just walking the show floor. Sometimes we'll sponsor/advertise/fund them but we leave the operations to the local convention companies. The one I'm at is Alt Products Expo in Dallas. If you're curious what company I work for I'm more than willing to share it in PM with whoever, just don't like to openly post it.

No worries. I asked because I am currently working for a company that rents A/V equipment and does setup and such for conventions. With the strikes going on, it's been a good way to keep working, so if it was possible to work with you, I wanted to find out.

These are the two large ones coming up. I can let you know when I hear of more, I've literally just started doing this so I don't know them all yet. I don't even get to go to those 2
I very much suggest looking into ways all of you could incorporate working with smoke companies if you can. They typically pay well because
1) Working in the industry is looked down upon by a lot of people which significantly cuts the amount of competent workers applying to these jobs down.
2) It's tough finding people who don't think "oh i work at a weed company so i can just smoke joints and not work all day"/people who don't settle into that habit. If you're competent then they will basically be forced to keep you around.

Shoot, I don't smoke at all and would happily work for a weed company as long as it's a good place to work. That's the thing, it just needs to be a good place to work. And it sounds like you've found one. We've been talking games a long time, Megas, and I'm proud of how well you're doing. Keep on going, my man!

I work for a open vape system manufacturer (for nicotine juice) in particular but the weed stuff is 100% hand in hand with it and the same follies happen. Keep an eye out for 4/20,7/10 and Bicycle day events and you'll find plenty of work I'm sure!

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Midlife crises are the best now lol. I never really had that bar/drug/party/socializing lifestyle yet, and I feel like I gotta have that at least once in my life. Looking for friends is rough here so far, as my "clique" is not really there (it's mostly conservative government workers, a quarter of them use the city's subreddit, and 20% use ashley madison), but I've been using apps to try to connect with people, hopefully it'll pay off soon. The few in real life friends I have are people in their 50s who went past this sort of lifestyle, and coworkers. No offense to them of course, I still see them in other outgoing scenarios.
Getting piercings and tattoos and a faster rate now, dressing up a lot better, lost 15 pounds and counting, getting my hair coloured again instead of just bleached, and since I am queer and the more androgynous kind I've been slowly learning how to do make-up.
I don't really wanna get laid. It'd be nice to "increase my body count", but I'm in a happy relationship. Still, I have an urge now to leave the house every so often with a group of people. I have been drinking at home and started taking weed again, just to dip my toes into it, and tbh I'd be willing to try more things, except psychedelics and molly because those are really bad for my mental health issues. I do feel like doing it in my 30s is a better option rather than my late teens/early 20s. I feel like at a younger age like the latter one would do it more hedonistic sake, like just going out to a bar for the purpose of getting shitfaced. For people around my age it'd be more to hang out.
We'll see how this turns out lol.

I never went through that phase and I turned out just… you know, maybe I’m not the best example case.
