He also wants to move to New York, but hey, we can't always get what we want.

Didn't you just buy a projector a few weeks ago?

Unless you have a PS5 or a Series X, you don't need a 4K TV. Just stick with a cheap 1080p.REPO Man wrote:Plus I'm looking for a 4K television.

No. That was the screen. I bought tge projector back in 2018 for $45 marked down from $60.PretentiousHipster wrote:Didn't you just buy a projector a few weeks ago?
And I've decided that if I go this route then I'll go with the 50" TV. It's only $13/mo, which is literally nothing. Seriously I could pay off my debts and other expenses with no issues.
And before you say "what about New York", last year I paid off over three grand of back rent in a matter of four or five months. I'll just start socking away cash after I'm caught up with everything else.
And as for why I ended up behind on the rent, I didn't know that my morning job was closing for repairs until literally the night before. Who could plan for that?
Considering that the PS5 is backwards compatible with my PS4 library AND my Blu-rays if I get a PS5 I won't need my PS4. If I don't give it to my brother I'll probably just sell it. A hundred bucks is a decent price gor a PS4 Slim with a controller and cooling stand, right? I'd also throw in a few games for $5/ea.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Unless you have a PS5 or a Series X, you don't need a 4K TV. Plus I have a few 4K Blu-rays from a few combo packs.

I try to stay out, but sometimes.....REPO Man wrote:Anyone have any experience with Amazon Monthly Payments? I'm thinking of using it to get a new TV. It says the TV, currently on sale for $380, would cost $15.84/mo for 24 months with no APR. There's no credit check. Each payment is charged every 30 days but I can also make additional payments whenever I want. In theory I could make two payments of $15.84 every payday and be paid up early.

I have experience with trying but failing to ignore your poor financial decisions
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Anybody can plan for that. You just need what experts refer to as an "emergency fund." Using thisREPO Man wrote:And as for why I ended up behind on the rent, I didn't know that my morning job was closing for repairs until literally the night before. Who could plan for that?

"emergency fund," you can help yourself out of a bad situation. Such as losing a job.

So, to be clear, you still have things you are behind on? And you're talking about buying a new 55-inch TV, a new bike, a PS5, AND you're talking about saving to move to New York?REPO Man wrote: And before you say "what about New York", last year I paid off over three grand of back rent in a matter of four or five months. Every time you get a few dollars you buy yourself a new toy.
I'm not trying to tell you that you can't buy yourself things to enjoy or give you grief for not having more money, but you aren't really in a financially stable position.
I have a lot of issues with Dave Ramsey's investment advice, but his stuff on achieving financial stability is good, solid advice that you could really use.
Maybe take a look at this link and check out his radio show. I wouldn't recommend buying any of his products.
