Fatal Labrinth
I just got this Sega Genesis game and a few others on Saturday at yard sales, and this game is insanely difficult. Is there any way not to die so fast? The first time I played I spawned next to a super difficult enemy and it killed me really fast. The game is a graphical roguelike and the maps are randomly generated every time you play.

Two Words: Game Genie
Seriously, that was the only way I ever got anywhere on the game. However i did find this glitch online
99 AC - Every time you equip a bow, your AC goes down 1. If you have 2 bows,
alternate between them. Eventually, your AC drops to 0. Equip it again, and
your AC goes to 99. This makes you very tough to beat.

At least it's named accurately.
We are prepared to live in the plain and die in the plain!

Dang it, all this talk about FL has gotten to me. I gotta go track it down again.
Re: Fatal Labrinth
I haven't tried it yet on my sonics ultimate genesis collection for 360 but so far all genesis games on that compilation are a challenge for me.

Some of those games will totally mess you up. The first couple of Phantasy Star games are as hard as they come.
Re: Fatal Labrinth
My friend and I joke all the time about this game and how ridiculous it is. Even still, the game is beatable without cheating/using codes/Game Genie.
The game "saves" every five floors (if I recall correctly). So you can continue infinite times from that spot. I highly recommend not trying to equip or use items until the game saves, just in case any of the items are cursed (which many are in that game) or if they have detrimental effects.
One important thing to note is that the game is actually turn based. Although it does not appear to be, it is. Try standing still for a while. You will notice that no enemies will move. When you are low on health, run back and forth in a safe area for a while to use up your 'turns' in order to gain life back. However, be careful not to waste all of your food. In this game, if you eat too much, you walk slow (again, it is turn based so you aren't walking slow as much as you are taking multiple turns to move one square). If you eat more than that, you will die from over-eating (yikes). Don't eat enough, you die.
The game is very harsh, but once you have figured out the game's mechanics, the game gets much easier. If you are surrounded by a ton of enemies, stop for a while and think about which "moves" you want to take. Also note that anything can be thrown in this game. If you determine that the sword you just picked up is cursed, instead of equipping it and accepting all ill-effects, instead try to throw it at an enemy to do some damage before you get in melee range.
Once you know which items are extremely useful, you will collect those and discard any others.
Overall the game gets a low score (from me), but it is not impossible (took me two days to complete the game, after restarting on the first play through, which ended up being more like an intro to the game's evilness). It is better to know someone who has also played through it, so you can both rip on the game's many flaws.
Also, make sure to collect lots of gold so that when you die, your gravestone is larger and people will show up to your funeral (yes, that is what gold is for in this game).

Re: Fatal Labrinth
I played this game a ton when I was a kid. I can't remember if I finished it. I'm appalled at how bad it seems now... Back in the day, there was a real desperation for any type of RPG, since not many made it over from Japan - so I played just about anything. Ugh.
